Hi,MOLA MOLA LUPE "In the house" . FInally got this beauty today. Can't wait to spend my sunday listening to vinyls and experience the magic of mola mola!!!![]()
I absolutely love it !!! i've had very limited exposure to standalone dac's . Had an MSB platinum V before this which was stellar too. Really love the soundstage the tambaqui throws up and i love the lushness of the sound ( pardon me for my layman terms, not a very a technical guy). Ii could hear the minutest of details and i can't get over how good well mastered recordings sound. Now i have addep lupe to the analogue chain too and it give you so much of conrtols to play with on the fly when you are listening to vinyls. Its just incredible.Hi,
Hope you can share your impressions with the Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC.
Thank you. Sounds like you have a thoughtfully put together set up suited to your preferred SQ, tone and presentation. Have fun!I absolutely love it !!! i've had very limited exposure to standalone dac's . Had an MSB platinum V before this which was stellar too. Hi yes i did feel that there was a difference in the SQ when i did an A to B comparison, But then that is what i felt. As for having the SoTM stack i already had the setup before i bought the Tambaqui. I just added the tx - USB ultra later. i honestly got the Tambaqui just for using it as a DAC and not a roon endpoint.Sounds indeed like an excellent dac, would be end game for me
If you dont mind me asking, I can see that you use a roon setup with a Nucleus probably as a roon core. And the Tambaqui has roon end point functionality. And you have a lot of SOTM components in the chain. I can understand the SOTM switch and ISO Cat 6 cable. But are you using the rest of the SOTM chain to feed the Tambaqui. And are you finding this combination better than using the Tambaqui as the direct end point.
The reason why Iam curious is because iam considering a streaming dac for my next upgrade. And was considering selling my current streamer if the dac's inbuilt streaming board was good enough. Hence curious to know your findings. Thanks![]()

Yes it does have bunch of inputs (HDMI+Optical+USB+Phono). Currently I have connected TV via HDMI... advantage its ARC, hence you can control volume using TV remote.Nice... How you are connected to the TV ? Did you try all digital options? I guess the speaker having HDMI input as well.

Absolutely gorgeousNot sure if this counts as AV Gear! But a purely aesthetic addition to my setup. Something I have been working towards getting right for a while!
The idea was to get something that can display Spotify/TIDAL - NOW PLAYING screen at all times. I have been working on various prototypes and finally found someone who could put my ideas into practice & execute with perfection
The device is a cheapish 10 inch tablet, this turned out to be the optimum size for the Spotify Now Playing screen as it was readable from anywhere in the room. Also the ratio of the album art vs the info below turned out to be the best on a 10 inch tablet.
I have signed into this tablet with a separate ID I created (as this tablet will never be locked). The tablet is set to always on. Spotify now playing screen is Pinned. The tablet has been put on e-reader mode (So it is Black & White -). All apps (except some system apps) are either disabled or uninstalled - so only SPOTIFY is working for now, will add tidal soon.
The frame is teak wood - the back is routed MDF. The tablet can be put in both Landscape or Portrait mode. For my usage - portrait it is!
A few pictures!
