I am planning to get Emotiva umc 200 and xpa 5 from USA. Emotiva has confirmed via email that it supports dual voltage via auto switching. but they told that we need to buy appropriate power cable and interconnectors suiting India.

Kindly advise regarding power cables so that i can put an international quote
as attractive deals are goin on.

Thanks.

Plenty of good cables and ICs available here in India.
Don't let cables bother you. Go for it!

The plugs attached to power cables that come standard with Emotiva equipment are US plugs and may not fit in the standard Indian sockets. Other than that the cables are just fine and you need not worry. Just get a Belkin Power Strip and you are set. The Belkin power strip accepts all plugs be it Indian, Euro or American.

I used to own an xpa-2 and the cable supplied is a really solid cable.

You may go ahead and make your purchase without worries.

Instead of getting a new power cable confirming to Indian round pin standards, I would advice you to get the plug switch replaced on your wall switch board with a Cona or some other branded one which will cost around 50/-, which now a days comes with universal standard holes and accepts both Indian and US style plug pins. I have done this and use for all types of US power plugs which are of universal voltage. As the standard power cables that Emotiva provides will be of high quality why do you want to replace them.

thanks a lot for the replies. i would be much thankful if the model details of the cona universal hole switch plug is shared here. thanks again

Sorry bobgalee for not reverting to your PM in time.
What they are asking is to choose the plug type carefully.
Otherwise there is nothing to worry.
The cord that comes with Emotiva is solid built with tight fitting plugs.
It is the fattest cable I have if that really matters!

exactly change the socket :)

+1 to the suggestions.

Emotiva shipped me the upa5 + umc with the US version of plugs but I got universal sockets in my house (from Roma) and they fit fine.
