Question regarding Sony DAV-DZ290K

Hi..
I got this Home Theatre in my home,
DAV-DZ290K : DVD Home Theatre System : Home Theatre System : Sony India


In its description, it says,

"upscale your DVDs to 1080p with DAV-DZ290K Home Theatre System."


So, what does that mean ??

Does that mean that, whenever I connect my Sony Bravia 32 LCD TV to this Home Theatre and play any DVD, will it automatically stretch it to 1080p ?

If you play DVD on it(576p)which can be upscaled to 1080p format.

Wow, that is nice..

Thats why, today, when a played two pirated Moserbaer DVDs from a local store, it showed nice (not clean like Blue ray though) on my LCD TV.

Thank god, atleast this Home Theatre worked nice.

Ok bro, another question.

Can this Home Theatre play Blue Ray DVDs ?

Yes,you need to add Bluray-rom(like DVD rom) from which you can play Bluray.

You'd need a pretty powerful PC though (3.2 gigs and above if single core), which is okay if you've bought a fairly powerful one fairly recently.

You'll need a mother board/video card with plenty of RAM and HDMI/HDCP.
You'll need a blue ray drive (reader or writer).
You'll need the software (you should get it with the writer).
You'll also need around 2 gigs of RAM (I'd really recommend 4 gigs) for it all to work smoothly, anything less would be a disaster.

I gave up on all this some time back and bought a PS3, 'cause I couldn't find an AGP card with HDMI/HDCP.

Moserbaer DVDs, those ones with 2/3 movies in them are not pirated. I thought they were legal???
