ReBangalore DIY workshop?

Raghu:

Two people who will definitely attend( not on the forum) are Col Bheeman and Philip Isaac of Lizzner Electronics, please add them to the list.

In case anyone attending has any suggestions to improve the presentations, please do let us know, wherever possible we will try and incorporate these.

The subwoofer session is also of 30 mins duration.

We are trying to come up with some interesting initiatives, but those are not yet firm, will let people know only when/if anything concrete evolves.

Cheers

George,

Pardon me if it is already covered somewhere. It would be nice if there is some information on, essential woodworking tools, bracing and so on...a quick carpentry 101...

thanks

Gopi:

T Antony will cover this in his presentation partially, and Sunil and I will cover bracing in subs, and if you have any questions, just ask away in the Q & A. Most of us do NOT build the enclosures ourselves, we get good carpenters to do it.

By strange coincidence, all three workshops i.e. that at Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai are happening on 11th. I had to fore go a great opportunity to network with folks from my hometown to attend this meet. Of course it helped that I'm required to visit Bangalore on official visit too.

BTW, is it possible to include how the TSPs would influence cabinet shape. From my interactions with experts like Danny, Anthony etc, I've learnt that even if one keeps the cabinet volume same, the shape cannot be changed.

And deprived you of some prime Hyderabadi biriyani and khubani as well? My sincere apologies!

Let us see what can be covered in the time available, rest assured that we plan to make this as enlightening as possible with some good takeaways for all those who attend! All the volunteers are spending time preparing their presentations for your benefit.

could we have a 5 min demo as to how to do clean soldering for crossovers etc. thats something i always mess it up. too many wires, too much solder, too much hot glue. at the end, the xo circuit works but looks like a piece of crap.

Ok I'm glad to say that some of the interesting initiatives that I mentioned in an earlier post are coming through, and at this time will be offered only for those who attend the workshop.

After the workshop is concluded, and if we find that these are successful AND there is more interest, we will check if these can be offered to a larger group. Suffice it to say at this time that these appear be well worth your while attending.( More rewarding than, say, a plate of Hyderabadi biriyani!). I'm not going to say anything more on this subject until Dec 11th.

T Antony will show briefly how Unibox can be used, and Sunil will demo WinISD for subwoofers.

doors666-you could talk to Sunil, Antony and Philip Issac of Lizzner to ask for soldering tips. Antony will cover this in his presentation, though not sure in how much detail. Philip may bring along an assembled crossover, to show how it can be done-and his work is very tidy.

Cheers

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm as of now blocked off the sunday morning :licklips:

Could the folks who planto attend, and may not have sent PMs to Raghu, please do so when they have time? He needs to have a number of attendees to make arrangements. I believe we are looking at around 20-25 people at last count.

Cheers

linuxguru
exljp
navinmra
anilkumar
gvenu

doors666
hemnathhg

Raghu:

The numbers aren't 20+ that I initially thought, but including the four people doing presentations as well as you, it is now 35. Assuming that some people arent able to make it, and a few last minute additions, it's a pretty decent expression of interest.

Looks a pretty solid bunch to please. George, our work is cut out....

Are we covering room acoustics on the 11th? I have no skill with instruments and my interest lies in passive room treatments for my new listening room.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
