Hello,
Just sharing my knowledge. Tinnitus can result due to a variety of causes, but in a scenario excepting infection and trauma to the ear, the main cause can be considered as prolonged noise exposure.
Though, listening to music at moderate volumes of about 55-65 dB is deemed as safe, prolonged listening sessions in a given day, can result in a higher degree of trauma to the auditory nerve. This constant abuse provided to the nerve, results in the nerve being unable to "effectively" receive sound stimulus, and hence the individual hears a ringing sound when there is a lack of ambient noise from the surroundings.
My advice would be to moderate your music listening for about 60-90 days and continue a course of nerve vitamin as prescribed by your ENT consultant. After the mentioned period, I would advise you to perform an Audiometric test to re-evaluate your hearing assessment and compare to the previously done Audiometry test.
Please PM if you're having further doubts.
Best regards,
Dr. Harsha
