Hi All,

I am planning to buy a new LED tv for my living room and my budget is less than Rs:100,000/-. My requirements are
1. Good Sound output with Clarity
2. Best display for 2D & 3D viewing
3. Smart TV with easy usage, app downloads, updates etc..
4. Software & Hardware upgrade if possible in future
5. Durability

I have shortlisted few Tv's from my end mentioned below with the price and i would like to request experts here to take a look and suggest me with the best option. Please feel free to add if i missed any other better Tv in this segment :eek:hyeah:.

SONY KDL-42W900B - 76k in snapdeal (Liked it)
SONY KDL-46W950A - 85k in snapdeal

SAMSUNG 40HU7000 - 79k (No 3D but UHD)
SAMSUNG 46H7000 - 99k in Reliance Digital (Liked it)
SAMSUNG 48H6400 - 86k in snapdeal

I saw SONY KDL-42W900B, SAMSUNG 40HU7000 and SAMSUNG 46H7000 in person in showroom and liked SAMSUNG 46H7000 a lot but wanted to compare it against SONY KDL-42W900B or SONY KDL-46W950A picture quality, is Triluminos display really better than SAMSUNG 46H7000 tv's display? SAMSUNG 46H7000 tv has 800 Motion rate and looks better display in showroom than sony.
Also wanted to check if SAMSUNG 40HU7000 UHD a better option than SAMSUNG 46H7000 at the cost of 3D?

Thanks,
Naveen.

Out of this, I would prefer 950A, although I am vary about buying it online from Snapdeal.

If 950a is not available, then you can try the Samsung 7 series HD and not the UHD. Both has Va panels. Sony is better in motion resolution though. Samsung looks better than Sony because 2014 is kind of actually downgrade because Sony switched to IPS panels in many ranges.
ie. 2014 Sony model B series because the ones you have rounded are IPS panels. But still, they are better in handling motion though than Samsung.

You really do not need a UHD in 40 Inches unless you are going to use that for computer applications. Extra size would be the way to Go.

sony 42w900b has got very poor reviews because of its average contrast performance being an ips panel....my recommendation would be the samsung 46h7000 (h7150 in the US)which is the latest model and has got fantastic picture quality

here check out the review
Samsung UN55H7150 Review (UN55H7150AFXZA, UN55H7150AF)| 55-inch 1080p 240Hz 3D Smart LED TV

7000 is next only to F8000 released in 2013. Many think that the latest model is better. Not always, the classic example is 2014 Sony range.

@naveenanandp - 950a(2013 model)>F8000(2013 model)>H7000>950b

Rule#1: Always consider the biggest size possible in your budget.
Rule#2: Don't go for 4K, unless you are planning something above 60" panel.

I've gone through lots of research recently before getting Samsung 48H6400 for 59K (from ebay india - with 1 year dealer warranty). This is one of the good tv with Smart, 3D, 120Hz panel, with great black levels, good deal for that price range. You can get 55H6400 for 84K or so. And above all, H6400 series is DIRECT LED (not edge); resulting great screen uniformity and black level control. Once you see this TV, You will laugh on any IPS panel (LG/ Sony) greyish blacks.

I too agree F8000 is better, next H7150 and H6400. I always opt for a 55" 6400 series on top of a 46" F8000 for the same price! Believe me 42"TV look really small in a matter of time! - you'll start looking to upgrade to 50 or above.

Both the points are right in their own sense, but there are certain things which we need to take care. A bigger screen TV with poor picture quality and motion resolution is going to give bigger head ache for those who are sensitive towards motion judder.

The second depends on the viewing distance and eye sight too. If the viewing distance is very close or he/she can resolve images due to better eye sight than the average, then 4K will help. PC can output 4k resolution too.

A couple of month back I saw F8000 for 68 k in Ebay with dealers warranty. Now all those are not available. For me 46 inches looks small now wish I had got a 55 inches one.

The reason for 6400 to have super PQ is because both H7 and F8 used nearly the same panel with only difference in the dimming mode and refresh rate AFAIK.

Btw, in my opinion, IPS panels are a no for me any day. 6400 is a budget choice champion in Pq, but would let you down in motion handling when compared to Sony(IPS/VA). Trust you are not too sensitive to motion judders. For me the panning judders are Nauseating actually.

All the best with your TV purchase. Share your experience.

Guys, Thanks a lot for all your input!
After lot of research i have decided on LG 47LB750T and ordered it today :)

Congrats! Where did you order from and for how much? Flipkart is selling the same tv for 90k.Also i think you might get it even cheaper alongwith freebies from an offline store.
