Hi All,

I'm new to this forum.

Please help me in choosing the LED tv from the following options:

1) 40" Samsung D6600 - Cost.83k INR with freebies 3D sound bar, 2 3D glasses
2) 40" Samsung D5900 - Cost.51k INR (by using the samsung coupon)

If i use the coupon for D6600 model i'll get the tv at 71k INR but there will be no freebies. So, i prefer to go for D6600 without coupon. Is it worth?

What are the real diff. b/n D5900 and D6600. Is clear motion rate is useful? Is the extra spending worth to buy D6600?

Looking forward for your reply.

Thanks in advance

Dude difference in PQ between D6600 and D5900 is a lot. Also D6600 has 3D and better motion handling, gr8 design. Both are very different tv's.

you need to first decide if you need a 3D TV or not, then the decession will be easier. I would suggest go with 3D, so that you can avoid an upgrade very soon.

Thank you all for your valuable suggestions. Sorry for delayed response.

Finally, i got D6600 for 82K with sound bar, 3d glasses and stabilizer.

I'm not really very much satisfied with the TV. When i watch cricket, I'm seeing lot of distortions. I don't think clear motion rate of 400 HZ is very helpful here.

Please let me know whether i need to change any settings in my TV to avoid distortions while watching fast motion pics.

For your info, I'm using Sun Direct DTH HD.

Have you changed any default settings on your TV set?

If not then i would advice you to change it and then follow up with your conclusion.

Now do this to change some settings on D6600 >>

For media files via HDMI :
Set the TV to Standard Picture Mode, and change the settings to:
Picture mode: standard
Backlight:15 for daytime or bright room, about 11-12 if in a dark room.
Contrast 70-80 ( suiting your preference )
Brightness 50 ( 45 to 55 " " )
Sharpness 50 ( 45 to 55 " " )
Colour 50
Tint 50:50

Advanced Settings->
Black tone - dark
Dynamic contrast - medium
Shadow detail 0
Colour space -native
Flesh tone 0
Edge enhancement: on
Motion lighting off
LED Motion Plus off

Picture Options ->
Colour tone: warm1
Digital noise filter auto
Mpeg noise filter auto
Hdmi black level normal
Motion Plus: Custom->
Blur Reduction:0
Judder Reduction: 4(5)

Normal SD TV Settings:

Same as above but change:
Picture Options ->
Film Mode: Off
Motion Plus: Custom->
Blur Reduction: 7
Judder Reduction: 3

Distortion observed by you is Ghosting and Juddering ,which can be controlled by changing Blur reduction and Judder reduction settings.

Hope this helps.
