Old wiring for cable tv in homes is usually as below:
All wires come to a junction and then one cable is joined with cable provided by the cablewala. Something like a splitter is used. Where one signal can be distributed further.
Airtel does not have this splitting facility and every STB needs have a cable directly connected to the Dish. Whereas Tata Sky has the splitter facility.
Second issue is that both Tata sky and Airtel can support 4TVs per dish. However, in Airtel the STB without record feature needs 2 sockets. Hence if you need STB with record only 2 STBs per Dish in Airtel. Tata Sky can have all 4STBs with recording capability.
Is my understanding correct? I am asking because I need to decide between the connections and need multiple connections.
