South India Audio Meet-2013

What is your suggested date for South India Audio Meet 2013

Everybody wants to share, otherwise they would not be forum members. Many of our forum members are more than happy to show off their sounds to others in their homes. My doubt is that many would pay for a room in which to do so.

For commercial sponsors, there is commercial advantage. For others, there is only cost --- unless they are looking to sell components, of course.

I second that, I would be very thankfull if few FMs want to come to my home to audition my Gear and are kind to provide hints at improving the SQ. Actually this would be preferable, since we spend a lot of time positioning the speakers according to the room accoustics and this would be very difficult to replicate in a foreign environment with bad acoustics and advice we would get might not be applicable in our homes . Its also pretty difficult to move our heavy equipment to the venue and back safely.

I wish our equipment were like show dogs, we could easily get them to jump into to the car and go to shows. :)

My health has taken a knock. Aches and pains all over. ten days physio prescribed, but, unless it works miracles I'm likely to be off the list for lifting and carrying. Not off the list for attending, though!

Captain, Your equipments make me to run for dictionary. Now i know how lame i am.
Waiting to experience them in action.

It looks like i will end up spending more than i want on my new speakers and amplifier after this meet.

Why Dictionary? I presume it is to know what is NOS DAC :) That means Non Over Sampling Digital to Analogue Converter.
Waiting to experience them in action.
Looking forward.

Before joining HFV, I was happily living with entry level gear for more than a decade.

Within three years, my entire system got revamped with 4-5 amp upgrades and three speaker upgrades, one CDP upgrade and countless upgrades of cables.:D

Welcome to the world of audiophilia.;)

How rightly said that was :), The Forum worked as Catalyst in stimulating the Music Sense, Even i was not much admired on even Theater sound when i has a BPL Deck player.
But
After being into Forum and spending time, atleast to understand HOW DEPTH music Lives in Components, How does well set-up component give you the pure pleasure of Music\Sound. Now no way i can Cheat my Ears says "Music Is Music" and be happy with a basic set-up.. Life need upgrade else it would be boring:)IMHO

NO WONDER EVERYONE IS GOING TO GET BIT WITH "UPGRADE BUG", after the Meet, So am arranging some money to grab some Beauties at "SALE BY OWNER" thread:ohyeah:

The Sixth Deadly Sin - Envy, and they say "You cannot genuinely love someone whom you start to envy" .

you guys are pushing everyone to this Mortal Sin!.:D

Hi,

1) Rajiv

I am planning to get two vintage systems one SS and the other tube. A lot depends on the venue and rooms we are able to get.

Tube system:
Quad II/II, Altec 605 or Tannoy Monitor Golds

SS system:
Luxman M4000 power amp Infinity RS II speakers.

If Mohamednaseer brings his LS3/5A speakers we could also listen to the classic combination of Quad II/II with the LS3/5A. We could also try the Luxman M4000 with the Thiels. :)

Source will be a Rega Apollo. Preamps : Lyrita DHT,Luxman 1010 or Leak VarislopeIII

Top class gears which everyone love to hear & own.:)

I was touring and just saw the thread. Happy to know that Ram and Santhosh are joining in. @ Srini, I think it is time we update the list and finalise the date so that more people can join in.

It is also time that we finalise the venue. Rajiv has pointed at some venue located at Gandhinagar, Adyar. Sometime tomorrow, we must visit Savera and Gautham Manor where we conducted our last meet.

@Ssrini & Rajiv, I'll call you guys after I land in Chennai tomorrow.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
