Speakers for Denon AVR X2300W

AVR is yet to be delivered and one more friend is coming who is willing to bring speakers ( fronts and center only, may be rear too if possible ) :)

Fronts n Center : Shorlisted Dali Zensor 1@150GBP as fronts with Dali Pico Vokal, pico being smaller, will match with zensor 1 ?
getting Pico Voakl @79GBP while Zensal Vokal costing 229GBP, is it worth the big difference ? on tight budget here. Other options if they match https://www.richersounds.com/products/hi-fi-separates/speakers/centre-speakers

Rear : I can get zensor 1 as rear too, also getting mission LX 2, Q3010 all around same price range.

Please suggest, need to order ASAP.

I am open to any other brands/models, budget is approx 200GBP for fronts, 100 for center and 150 for rear. not importing sub for now.

If budget permits go with zensor voKal.

Other options can be pioneer Andrew jones 5235 XT speakers, Taga Harmony TAV 606 /F60 SL,Polk Rti series speakers.

possibly have a demo and decide it.Good luck.

You can go with dali z1 all around.

Sent from my Redmi Note 3

I can go with z1 for front and rear but the vokal ( non-pico) is too costly for me.

Demo not possible for me, I'll check Polk.

Thanks.

I have read through the thread to understand the suggestions provided by the forum members, one thing that was no where mentioned is the speaker impedance to the per channel output of the amplifier, do you all think this is necessary or not?

Denon X2300 is rated at 150 watts per channel, and i have been struggling to understand the importance of this while matching the right speaker, how does one get the right balance of Speaker and Amplifier Wattage?

Should the amplifier watt per channel be lower than that of the speaker or higher than that of the speaker and in both cases, what is the risk?

This information i believe will help a lot of people like us looking to upgrade either the amplifier or the speaker.

PS: I am also looking to upgrade my amp to Denon X2300, and I currently use Mission M35i floor standers, Wharfedale 9.6 Diamond Series CS, and PSB Subwoofer.

Yes. You could get the z1 and then try to get a Center that matches as closely as possible. The Polk CS series are in fact pretty good.

Denon X2300 is 95w at 8ohms full spectrum. It is pointless in my opinion to even look at 1KHz at 1 channel driven spec. 20Hz-20Khz at 8Ohm with atleast 2 ch driven is better spec to look at.

Well ideally matching a speaker and amp Power wise is very a tricky situation to be. Ideally, one should know what volumes, purpose, preferences the equipment would be needed to serve. I would always prefer the amp to have more juice than the speakers, just so that amp doesn't get overdriven to clipping levels.

In my view, one should see the Impedance rating of the amp and speakers for a home theater casual usage at moderate volumes and Power wise the amp should be anywhere in the middle of the power rating of the speakers.

I am sure members with better matched components can explain the benefits better.

if they're selling z1 per piece you could get all 5 z1s ie use a z1 as center speaker too. thats infact the ideal setup

Aah, thats good idea, but they are not selling per peice, will check for other retailers.

I have almost finalized, one z1 pair and one pico vokal for now.

Hello guys,
I am new to this excellent forum and tried to post a new thread which didn't appear for some reason.
In hope that I am not hijacking the thread I would ask a favour from you stalwarts. My knowledge about HT systems is very limited.
Just ordered a Denon 2300w online which will be with me in a couple of days.

A local dealer suggested the following 5.1 config:

. Polk s60 Towers
. Polk s20 Book shelfs for rear
. DSW PSW 125 Sub
. Polk slim center

After going through this thread I came to know about Dali Zensor and surprised at the recommendations it has got. Online reviews are great as well.

So please suggest how I must go with my 20x18 bed room.

. Dali Zensor 1 or 3 as main speakers AND center as well as Rear.
. Dali or Polk sub.

OR
. Dali Zensor 1 or 3 as main speakers
. Dali pico Vokal as center or Polk slim center
. Any other book shelfs
. PSW DSW Sub

It will be a great help.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for replying mshifi!

This post took 2 days to appear after I posted and I am one of the impatient one's when it comes to electronics (as most of us are anyway).

So I ordered the following setup after scouring the web:
. Dali Zensor 5
. Dali Zensor 1 for rear
. Dali Vokal center
. SVS SB 1000 Sub

Will update once I receive and install them.

Cheers!
