Dear Friends,

I have a Norge 1000 Concerto Gold Amp. I did some research and I'm zeroed in on the following 3 speakers :-

1. Taga Harmony AZURE B-40 v.2 6.5
2. Mission MX1
3. Mission LX2

Which one would you guys recommend ? My room size is about 12 X 12 fts. I usually listen to a lot of sufi, EDM and at times, Gazals. My budget would be around 15k.

Many Thanks,
Syed

Among the ones listed I think the best option would be the LX2.
In your budget you can also consider Boston Acoustics A25.

Check for BA26 for better price .vfm

@irv..thanks for your feedback. LX2s are back ported. Although they are amazing and highly rated speakers, don't you think it will create boomy bass in a room of 12x12 fts ? I've earlier has such experience with BA 26 when I paired it with Norge 1000 :-(.

@reachkalyan.kr ..thanks for your feedback...I had BA 26 earlier which one of my friends took away. They were actually very good but again, I think very boomy with huge resonance in a room of 12x12 fts..when I paired it with Norge 1000

One other thing that I noticed is Taga Harmony Azure impedance (6 ohms) matches up with Norge's impedance, which is also 6 ohms..but I'm not too sure about Taga Harmony as a brand, hence the dilemma.

Hi

There is a dedicated Taga owners thread where first hand feedback is posted around Taga speakers....perhaps there would be something there

You can also look at Wharfedale 210 or 220, though I would recommend 220.
It should pair well with Norge.

+1 to Wharfedale 220. I have tried it with Norge 2060 and it was very good and musical. Norge 1000 should drive it with ease as more power output.
Not much far from your budget.

@ubitoo...thanks...I had a look at the thread and have even send a message to derek to check his over all experience.
@efernand1 ..thanks..I have posted a message in the thread to check is someone has any experience of Taga harmony Azure B-40s
@Kannan ..thanks...Wharfdales are very good and musical too. I've getting titled towards them too considering they using bass posting system and keeping mind my room size..will discuss with you more on your whatapp number if you dont mind.

Many Thanks Friends,

Considering your needs and room size the diamond 220s are your best option in my opinion. I just got my 220s a few days back and the main reason for going for them is the ease of placement. Got it for 17990 from hifimart.

@irv I think what you are saying is right my friend..Wharfies will be quite balanced for my needs and room size..just as a matter of interest..what is the amp you are pairing it with ?

Boomy bass is usually a room problem. Empty room and open corners can be one problem. Also what you keep the speakers on and what distance from back and side walls will dictate the performance regardless of what speakers you get.

WD 220 and Marantz 5005 - Is both are Warm sound signatures ?

Just to know, whether this combo good for 2.0 setup. Because some FM mentioned that Bright + Warm is right combo.

When i audition Marantz + Dali zensor 1 , i feel it was better than Marantz + WD 220. But i may be not sure , because its just one song and can not judge correctly. This combo Marantz + WD 220 is highly recommended in our Forum.

The missions are beautiful sounding, underrated speakers, I've owned the mx1 for around 2.5 years now and have moved them around the house in various setups, as rear surrounds in a large room HT, as stereo pair in a small room audio setup, they are sweet sounding and are easily driven by any amp. I would recommend them without hesitation as they are compact ones without the issue of sounding boomy even in a compact room.

@nitinsanand ..oh thats a valuable feedback..many thanks...since MX1s are back ported, how far were you keeping them away from the wall ? I have a 12x12 fts room and my listening distance would be around 6-8 fts. I can afford to keep them maximum of 6-7 inches away from the wall.

Many Thanks,

Many Thanks,

Mine were pretty close to the wall, around similar distance you've mentioned, between 5-8 inches at various times.

@nitinsanand....and what the amp you were using with it ? and how big was your room on an average..I always felt that MX1s are value for money speakers..was just apprehensive about the back porting...thanks

Very small bookshelves like Mission MX1/MX2, Dali Zensor 1, Boston Acoustics A25/A26 can be placed quite close to the wall. In fact some of them even have wall mounting facility. You can use foam bungs if you do have bass issues.

@Naturelover ..oh it it...remember you (others :-)) helped me out to take BA 26 in 2012..some 6 years back...one of friends liked it so much that she took it away :-)...As she stays near by...what I will do is, I'll get the BA's back for sometime, try them in my room. If it gets bassy..then I will try the foam buns or something like that and let you guys know about the rest..

Good to speak to you again btw :d
