Hey Guys,
Has anyone auditioned the Tannoy Mercury V1??...they are a replacement to the Mercury F1's.

They supposedly have upgraded the components to make it even better...

please put forward your thoughts on these speakers...:D

F1s still have good reputation and continue to maintain the same price rate in local(indian) market.

whats the going price for the F1's in bangalore?
Mr. Vedavendra of the Audio Video India on CMH road gave me a quote for Rs.15,500/- plus taxes. is this the right price?

V1 are gr8 spkrs. I have auditioned them with music only. Bass is impressive. Tout and controlled. Top end is sweet. I wud place them between wharfdale 10.1 and polk rti a1. Neither too warm nor too bright. However, I prefer more air around top end. So my choice is rti a1/a3. Price is 17k. But one can ask for 12% discount.
If i had not listened to polks, i wud have picked V1s. But as I said, i prefer slight bright sound, i am going for Rti a1 or a3.

Please also check in Music Ranch, Jayanagar. Mercury V1 was not there when I have visited couple of weeks back to demo Yamaha AVR. So I couldn't demo with Tannovy V1. Intead it was with Magnat 5.1

He mentioned that Mercury V1 is not a proper Bookshelfas it is slightly bigger than satellite(!) and it is too small. He also told that the proper bookshelf is the bigger one ( I think revolution model which was there on display ).

My understanding after going through the specs was that Mercury V1 is an entry level bookshelf from Tannoy which can be paired with Yamahs-375/475 right?
