Tata sky hd

Okay, TS have installed the dish and the box works but I have a few questions:

1) How does one pillerbox 4:3 SD content on the TATA-SKY HD box, when the box is connected to the TV via HDMI.

2) I'm not getting a single English language SD channel apart from Fashion TV. How do I rectify this issue? What SD english channels should I be getting with the HD box during the free period of two months>

3) More of a comment really, but I guess that the easiest way to get the HD channels quickly is to call TS up at the call centre and give them a blasting?

The financial channels ie CNBC TV18 or NDTV PROFIT have a news/stocks ticker scrolling at the bottom of the screen. I had found this to be shaky & juddering in all normal LCD tv's. Is there any improvement in viewing these SD channels thru the HDMI/MPEG4 connection?

Hmm..., I thought so too about the tickers on LCD TVs I saw sometime back.
In that case it may be LCD TVs issue or processing issue, and I doubt will be fixed by HDMI.

I have not seen this issue on plasma.

Anybody observed that dialogues get dropped out for few seconds very frequently in Discovery HD. This is the only channel I am facing this issue, rest of the channels including NatGeo HD are fine. Can some one having TataSky HD please check and confirm?You might need to watch 15 to 20 mins continuously to check it.

Hasn't happened in my case. Could it have happened for a particular program?

I'm getting what seems to be Chinese subtitles for NG HD. Any way to turn it off?

Has anyone noticed that the Guide UI doesn't have a way to jump to the next/ previous page? This is a real usability problem for me; I used to use that feature a lot!

I managed to pick up one of these HD STBs from a shop in Kolkata. They're not at all easy to get.
I asked a few dealers and they all said that they might get stock on/after July 4. Went to a dealer I always go to and he said he had stock, examined it - it was a fresh piece, so I picked it up.
I called TATA-SKY and was told that someone would be getting in touch with me regarding installation of the dish.

And to all those Kolkatans mewing about not getting a TATA SKY HD box and moaning about how Kolkata is still stuck in 480P land, try here: Sancheiti Electronics Ltd. 2212 6168/69

Surprisingly, I booked my HD Box through TSky call centre on Wed, 29th Jun afternoon and it was delivered and installed on Thursday, 30th Jun morning !!

I plan to call Tata Sky later today, but thought I'll check here if anyone has asked already.

I have a TataSky + with all channels fully prepaid for a year(still around 7 months remaining). If I want to add Tata Sky HD to another room, do I just pay for the HD STB? Do I need to pay seperately for HD subscription? There used to be an offer at Tata Sky, wherein I could just avail Tata Sky for another room for just Rs.150 per month. Will this be applicable for Tata Sky HD?

I recently purchased Tatasky HD for my new second TV, i have a Mega Pack for the first connection. I only have to pay 150Rs for this new Tatasky HD service, nothing more. This was confirmed by both the service engineer and the Customer care. I am enjoying Football on HD connection.

You don't pay separately for the HD subscription.

Calling up TataSky is of no use. They kept telling me that they do not have any box in stock, and it is not available in Navi Mumbai / Thane yet.

Call up 'Roshan Services' (9223509597) and ask for TataSky HD box. He sent one to me on Wednesday, and should still have some stock. Tell him that you got his reference from Manish Sharma (CBD Belapur). His staff will supply the box, and come and activate the HD channels

Let me know if you get lucky.

Thanks, but I already got it yesterday from Tata sky. It was actually 1 day early (I was given an ETA of 7 days). Apparently they got a big shipment delivered yesterday..

The guys who installed my TS dish told me that they had been installing HD boxes all day! :lol: So there must be a supply of boxes, somewhere. Can't understand why some cannot get it here.

I got my HD channels this morning and they're not bad at all. Not as good as Blu-ray, but certainly miles ahead of that crappy SD.

I did call him and quoted your reference. They are expecting fresh stockts today evening. However, they asked me to collect the box from their place in Chembur, no home delivery/ installation, I stay in Thane. I already have a TS, will it be easy to install on my own? I

Hi all. Great to hear such positive reviews on the TS HD service. I myself booked a HD STB by calling the CC on 30th june. But there has been no positive response from them so far. They committed me to a delivery of 48 hrs. But till now, no word from them. I am really frustrated by their lousy service
Does anyone know a dealer in noida where I can buy the HD STB directly.
