Tata Sky Raises HD Charges

Tata Sky HD channels will cost Rs 200/- PM from now ! Thats roughly Rs 20 per channel, wonder if they will give us an "Al la Carte" option....and importantly will they be able to add HD channels : even if the Sat launch goes off well next week, it will take some time before it will be ready for commercial broadcasts.

From where did you got this information ? Website is still showing 100. What they have changed is multi TV HD charge which has been revised to 200 from 160.

Was told that Tata Sky has sent an SMS increasing HD charges. But you are right- it is for Multi TV HD: still it seems HD rates will be increased, as currently only the SD channels are included in mega pack offer for 5500/- which last year,also included HD channels.

I got a phone call from TAta Sky on mon informing that from 5 oct ,Colours will also be available in HD.i was also told that for me to get HD channel I should be a subscriber to hat channel in SD.in my case I only subscribe to ESPN in Hd,but from 5 oct I will hv to pay for ESPN in SD as well,otherwise no ESPN in HD.
For all multi tv, Rs 200 pm is the cost for HD channels.i believe no ala carte

Got SMS. It is for multi-room with HD from 160pm (regular) to 200m... existing package to continue at 160 till end of current subscription contract

It is absolutely ridiculous to have x SD channel to watch its equivalent HD channel!

Then they should scrap HD bouquet altogether

I have 2 HD recorder and 1 SD box and my contract runs out at the end of the year. I am thinking I should switch-over for good. Time to put up the HD+ and SD STB's on sale :sad:

What more punishment than watching Star movies HD that repetitively shows the same picture over and over as if there are only 50 movies produced in last 100 years.
