From Todays Mumbai Mirror

Toshiba 40AV700 Full HD 40 Inch LCd @ 40000

I find it lowest orices big branded LCD full hd TV in 40-42 Inch catagory.

Now some questions

1) Any 40/42 INCH Full HD TV in similar /lower price bracket ( By say LG,Samsung,Toshiba, Sharp,Panasonic?)

2) Anyone have same model? Reviews?

3) Anyone having another toshiba lcd tv? model? Reviews?

4) How is quality of toshiba in India? any first hand experiences?

5) MOST IMPORTANT --QUALITY OF AFTER SALES SUPPORT BY TOSHIBA IN MUMBAI?any first hand experiences?


What are members recommendations?

Background - Suggesting 40-42 Inch LCD to my Bro ( Against plasma) Not Video or Audiophile but a movie fanatic..Not a long term ownership plan ( planning to buy bigger screen after 2 years and move this to another room)So looking for low cost model.70% use wll be for SD cable...

Toshibas are quite rare ,but from the size it looks like it comes with either a SPVA or a AMVA panel.

Service of Toshiba may be a issue,they are direct import,imported in much lower quantities then say Sony.

Best to audition them and decide,but for a few thousand more you can get the Samsung C530 or the Sony EX400 via grey market.

No grey for this moment. I have seen quality and reliability of electronics deteriorating!

Any LG model in the price bracket ( around 43-44 K?)
My expereince with LG is pretty good. VFM as well as good ASS.
Also LG is generally 42 Inches which is additional to 40 Inches!

Depends on your location. In Delhi you can pick up a 42" LG in your budget
