US 2011 christmas discounts for bookshelves

A friend of mine has offered to bring bookshelves from the US during his India visit at the end of the month. He knows little about audio, so I'll have to tell him the exact speakers and shop where to buy. Are there Christmas discounts running on speakers, if yes, do people have suggestions? I am looking a pair below Rs. 10,000, that is under Rs. 5000 per speaker. I checked the bestbuy.com website, but am confused.

Ask him to look into Newegg.com and Amazon.com sites. There are some of the best offers running on book shelve speakers. You can as well go thru these sites and ask him to get the one with good reviews and as per your budget and taste.

Any particular reason for best buy. As per my info, newegg and amazon give the best deals on speakers. The best way would be that You order it online from these sites and provide your friend address for shipping. In such a case, your friend need to worry about carrying only and not about which model or where to buy. I have successfully tried this. Inform the package dimension to your friend before ordering. Most of my friends have asked only about dimension and weight and not about the speakers inside.

There are no "Christmas" discounts like there are on digital cameras. I liked Cambridge Audio S20 Speakers. Has anyone tried them? If yes, do let me know if there are any drawbacks. I need to order them immediately (before Monday 19th night India time).

Look into this site Newegg Book shelves. There are couple of book shelves pair running under very good discount and good reviews. Also look into the same in Amazon.com as well.
