Vinyl I am listening to...

Guide “Wahan kaun hai Tera” and so many other songs, besides his superlative music , defined Dada Sachin Dev Burman. His music had a haunting quality which defied time. There won’t be another. Kris Kristofferson passed on 28 Sep 2024 at age 88. “ For the Good Times” “ Me and Bobby McGee” “Sunday Morning Coming Down”. Rest in Peace dear friend.

There are many Bengali songs rendered by S.D. Burman which are real treasures mostly released in Hindusthan Record and EMI label. Even CDs exist.

Hi all, my friends and I have started a WhatsApp community for people who love vinyl records (Some have just started some have been collecting for years). It's to get opinions, discuss vinyl pressings, cassettes, and all kinds of fun music stuff. It’s a chill space to share your finds, talk about your fav records, and geek out with like-minded music fans.

What’s the group about?
  • Sharing everything cool about vinyl and cassettes
  • Swapping tips, stories, and music recommendations
  • Connecting with people who love music as much as you do
https://chat.whatsapp.com/IFAvdylqHMbFG5D6fOlpkG

Quick rules:
  1. Be kind and respectful—this is a safe space for everyone.
  2. Please don’t share anyone’s phone number or details outside the group. If you can’t follow the rules, we’ll have to remove you.

If I'm not mistaken, I think we have been doing this here itself.

however, a nice initiative.

For the connoisseurs of western music, especially from the 1950s and 1960s era, I came across this unique YouTube channel run by John Galindo, called Johnny G's Vinyl Treasure Show. He has a huge collection of 45s (7-inch singles) and does these live shows, playing them as though we were a RJ, complete with 2 turntables and a mixing console. He does the talking bit too and even takes requests from his audience.
