Vinyl I am listening to...

Thanks RT 3. A lovely set up and room.Incidentally I have chronicled my ownership of the Denon DP300F, possibly a Hanpin manufacture, elsewhere in this forum. Purchased in 2011 or thereabouts, it is now doing duty with my son in Mumbai. I found it totally reliable and fuss free. The Denons may be frowned by purists, I run the PMA 1510AE (2012 vintage) myself, and touch wood, other than ‘Source Direct’ switch cleaning this amp just runs on.My Denon DCD 510 has give up the battle and I don't think lens or other parts like tactile switches are available. Just enjoy. Warm Regards.

Thank you. I shall look for your thread. There is indeed much to be said for something that just ‘works’ and I’ve come to value that increasingly over the last few years. I have two vintage systems awaiting restoration, my childhood amp awaiting parts, three cycles that need attention, two motorcycles that need work, multiple analog cameras that need service, the list goes on. The relief of something that just works is quite underrated. In fact when I considered multiple options for a new TT, a Garrard 301 crossed my horizon but I decided against it at this time given how I simply can’t have another thing to maintain right now. The Denons get no love but they just keep chugging on. Long may yours continue to do so!

Warmly,

Warmly,
Thanks a lot. Maybe someday we meet and share our life’s similar agonies!

A Lovely LP. Second only to ‘Rumours’. Is that an AT3600L I see in the background? ‘Champagne Sound on a Beer Budget’as the thread on a famous vinyl site goes.
It is indeed. Swapped it back in on the DP300F and I’m reminded how sweet both are. I’m also appreciating how unfussy it is wrt the condition of the record. And also, how convenience is highly underrated. Having ‘auto’ allows you to have lunch while spinning a record and not have to leap around mid meal to lift that needle.

Second to Rumours - oof that’s a statement! It’s a fine, fun, rollicking collection of Mac in full freestyle live jam rock mode, a whole two hours of it - so different from the Rumours era that I can’t even compare. I love all 3 avatars of theirs in different ways 🙂

“May you find sweet inspiration - may your memory not be dull
May you rise to dizzy success
May your wit be quick and strong
May you constantly amaze us
May your answers not be wrong
May your head be on your shoulders
May your tongue be in your cheek
And most of all we pray that you may
Come back next week!
Be a Quizz kid.
Be a Whizz kid.”

The graphic novella/ita is such an integral part of the whole. Don’t think one can really fully appreciate the album without it. Two of my favourite art forms in one package.

Tull - Too old to rock ‘n roll: Too young to die. 1976, Chrysalis, US

Now spinning Bruce - Human Touch. 1992, Columbia US

The little things that delight with this tactile music passion/obsession. The album was released in 1992. To promote it and Lucky Town, Bruce went on tour without the E Street Band. Well whoever picked up the record caught the tour in LA and left the ticket stub in the record jacket ❤️
