Now spinning Quadrophenia. Undated EU reissue but the Miles Showell cut (from Abbey Rd). Really sweet pressing.

Now spinning Billy Joel - The Bridge. Not rated very highly by critics and himself, I personally think it’s a lovely album. Beautifully mastered too. With a downright ridiculous roster of guest appearances - Ray Charles, Steve Winwood, Candi Lauper, Ron Carter and Michael Brecker. 1986, CBS-Sony, Japan

Now spinning. The Guess Who - Rockin. Adds another 2 songs to any essential Guess Who collections - Heartbroken Bopper and Guns, Guns, Guns. Very nice album indeed. 1972, Nimbus, Canada.

This album really does slap. Quite unlike the Bon Jovi they turned into later. Superb pressing too. 1984, Mercury-Nippon Phonogram

Now spinning. Johnny Cash sings the ballads of The True West, Vol 1. Lovely ballads with alternating narration and singing in true troubadour style. Liner notes from Cash himself. It also contains a track about John Wesley Hardin (‘Hardin wouldn’t run’) - couple of years before Dylan. 1965, CBS, UK
