Hello Guys,

Just registered today. I have bought denon avr 3313. I have a very limited budget now :o to buy floorstanders and planning to buy WHARFEDALE VARDUS 400 FLOORSTANDING SPEAKER from hifimart online.

Are these really good speakers? opinions please.

Initailly I was planning for RTI A7, but the budget has killed my ambition.

I see that the frequency response of WHARFEDALE VARDUS 400 starts at 40, does it make any difference as I will be buying a sub(polk dsw) in november?

Thank you so much guys!!

Always yours

Vardus are very basic speakers, why not also demo wharf diamond? Also look at other speaker options, you need to listen to as many and then decide. Some of the other names are Polk Audio TSi, Mordaunt Short Aviano, PSB, Jamo, Monitor Audio, etc.........

Another better option would be to get only the front speakers and build the system speaker by speaker. This would take a longer time but would give you a better sounding system.

Earlier, I was also planning to buy Vardus 400. But, I wasn't able to find many positive reviews about them online. So, you better stay away from them.

You said you were considering Vardus 400, so I am safely assuming that you have a budget of 25k for floor standers. In that budget you can get Sonodyne Sonus 2605 (26k after 10% discount on hifimart).

Congrats on your purchase. Suggest you audition the Boston a250 floor standers. They were awarded the best floorstanders in their category by avmax and retail for about 25k

ok. I have made a serious shift of my considertation.

I went through some reviews on mission speakers, they all have good review except that they are bulky(who cares, even my wife is and I like her):p

Mission mx6 - Just wanted to know for any dealer in bangalore and what could be the price for this gem?

;)

I tried check with anand of decibels but seems like he is not inbterest to sell me mission.

Any suggestion will be much appreciated.

BTW, my room size is 11x 21

look and feel of the speaker is as much important for me as much as it sounds. I liked the look and feel of MX6 but need to audition them(I think).

Have a great weekend!!

If the AVR is exclusively for movies, then it doesn't matter if it as Floor Stander/ Book Shelf / Satellite speakers....

Consider Sonodyne Avant range of speakers + subwoofer...

However if you wish to strike a balance between movies/Stereo listening, then the FS matters....

Consider Sonodyne Sonus range of speakers...They have been already recommended....Good Luck..

Mission don't have a very good distribution network like other brands....So difficult to get an audition...

Mission are really good speakers (on the face kind of presentation), provided if they are matched very well with the partnering amplifier...

MY brother owns Mission M35i FS... I have paired them with Maratnz & Onkyo receivers....

I found Marantz AVR + Mission M35i FS to be good combo.....

A word of caution, for rear ported speakers.....You need good spacing from the rear wall...Else it might get too boomy & soon you may not like the sound....

Initially I planned to buy vardus 400, after audition I decided not to go to the wharfedale brand itself, then the store guy played one by one speakers in other wharfedale diamond range, I picked diamond 9.6 which is a monster and sounded well. You can also try 9.5 depending on your budget.

But never choose a speaker or AVR based on forum recommendations and feedback. Go, take a music CD and a original DVD with you, play it and use the sound fields on your own and decide which one your heart says 'pick up'. Buying a AVR equipment is like selecting wife partner, do it what you like and not on what others deemed as best. The equipments if maintained properly will lasts even a generation.

I have seen a pioneer AVR with TT working since 80s and the owner is hell bent not to upgrade it with HDMI one's.
