I am confused between hw40ex, tw8200 pt-ae8000 and benq 1070+. All have good review.
Asking from first hand users for review of above projectors.
Experts please help me to choose a good projector for home cinema.
Requirements:
1. Good contrast/brightness
2. Good black level. With detailed shadows.
3. Good 3d with min cross talk.

If any other projector you can suggest in similar budget.

Epson has the best brightness level the other good won is the panasonic ae8000.

I have a EPSON TW8100 and it is perfect with good brightness levels.

I cannot comment on the other brands as I did not compare. Before I bought made a good comparison and selected based on the value for money as compared to similar specs of TW8100.

All these have been talked about quite a few times on the forum. A search will dig out a lot of opinions.

Re: Which projector to buy? Sony vpl-hw40ex or Epson tw8200 or panasonic pt-ae8000 or

Thanks for all your input.
I was some what inclined to Sony vpl-hw40es.
1. Has good black level and detailed shadow compared to others.
2. Extensive after sales service locations and good after sales service. Pease of mind.

Tw8200 has really good contrast/brightness.

Pt-ae8000 has detailed advanced settings and 2x zoom. Much higher placement flexibility.

Benq 1070+ much lower priced than other. I can use cheap third party shutter glasses. But color brightness is not good as others.

I live in such an area that I can't audition any of them.

@amedius. 5040ub is not 4k projector. It has native resolution of full HD 1920x1080 only. Only it accepts 4k input and does some software enhancement to input . that's it.

Yes I know but 1080 is upscaled too.....and has a contrast ratio of 10000000:1 plus HDR... so why not....

Bro... Projectors LCD panels have native contrast of 1920x1080, so what's the use of upscaling when panels can't display it?
Company is not upscaling, its actually downscaling 4k preserving as good details as it can to show on 1080 panel. And about HDR its just way of WCG. It's already there. HDR is actually make difference in 4k resolution. And for HDR to work correctly video has to be shot on HDR. Like 3D is best enjoyed when scene is shot in 3d. HDR content is too few much lesser than 4k content available.

About contrast ratio of 10000000:1, its a DCR. Which is just a figure. Can't be challenged. Actual contrast is ANSI value. DCR is just like PMPO thing what prevalent at times of selling mini HiFi audio systems. It's just advertising showcase value.

If I had 1.5 lakhs of budget, I'd have gone for Sony VPL45ES.
