I think its a great thing to buy a kit sitting in the comfort of your home if you are a first time DIYer..
Agreed - there's tremendous value in getting a high-quality kit with premium parts, matched devices, etc., all in one package. It's always worthwhile to nurture sources of this kind. If somebody can put together a kit with PCBs, parts, etc. for a few of the high-end amps I've conceptualised over the last few years and posted at diyaudio, I'm all for it.
For a start, it might be worthwhile to get a community effort to design a PCB for the Mullard-type sliding-bias Class A/AB BJT/MOSFET amp that I posted on diyaudio - it simulates with superb distortion numbers and is a very simple circuit with easily available parts. I'll post the current simulation schematic here later.
in case you feel that Suds was palming anyone of with expensive stuff, which i dont think so- considering the fact that he has imported all that he is offering, you could fill us in with your input in a more community spirited manner, rather than "raining on someone's party".
Of course - all I was trying to point out was that there was no need to go through the trouble of importing these caps, since there were domestic sources (Suraj Radio and others) at comparable prices. Suds or anybody else is welcome to use these sources if they wish.
