Airtel DTH users,need info plz....

Just got my Airtel HD STB installed and the parameters are as follows:

Signal Strength: 80-85
Signal Quality: 40-45

Plz post the readings u get in your location so that i can contact their CS and ask for a re-calibration of the dish if need be.The guy who came for installation, installed when i was away, and upon calling and inquiring, said readings were all perfect.

i am from Chennai,i got installed it on 25th December,installation guys aligned the dish with hands to get the frequency.

Signal Strength: 80-85
Signal Quality: 40

hd Channels are looking good. SD channels quality are not good.

Did anyone used the USB port on the hd dth receiver. When ever i connect a usb stick the box get hang.

the usb port is meant for software updates only so no one will get any media player function with it

When I asked their eng for sq he told 50-70 is fine

I have Installed AirTel HD Recorder.

Tuner 1
Signal Strength : 60
Signal Quality : 60

Tuner 2
Signal Strength : 80
Signal Quality : 70

Basically Above 60 it shows Green Band and For 40 to 60 It shows Yellow.
Hence the bold one of above shows Green for me and rest others are Yellow.

Will post the Pic to get clarity.

Did you upgrade your connection from SD to HD or is it new connection ? The reason I am asking this question is because I have Airtel SD with recorder STB and I am wondering whether I should go for HD or HD Recorder STB . Price difference is substantial between the two . From the forum , I find that with HD STB also one can record programs in external hard drive after getting free recording topup . Can you or anyone throw more light on this ? Thanks in advance .

Hi Venkat,

Basically I have the Tata Sky+ (SD) which I shifted to one of my bedroom, Hence this AirTel HD Recorder is totally new connection.
As per the HD recording on USB is concerned I have no Idea about it. Basically I feel the Recording interface/GUI should be excellent to use it easily.
