as the title suggest which is the best awesome superb :) way ,should i add ati 2005 amp with 807 or sell 807 and buy 4810 or 5007 though prices of all three are close as my new hsu uls 15 sub will be arriving b4 30th june ati is around 165999 with discount, onkyo 180000 and denon with discount near about 165000

Manu4punjab, while I cannot comment on what you should buy, just wanted to let you know that the Onkyo 5007 sells for around 6500 AED / 85,000 INR in Dubai. That's less than half the price of what it sells in India. Should you decide to buy the Onkyo TX-NR5007, you may want to fly in to Dubai on a tourist visa, buy the 5007 here and go back to India:)

thanks bhai is there anyone who can go to dubai and buy one for me i can give him all the airplane charges :)

hey brother u haven't told me earlier about customs i guess with customs it come close to the price here in india ?

Not quite manu4panjab - in Chennai, the customs are ok and you can get through by paying very less. Not sure which airport you will pass through though because how much you pay to customs depends on the airport you pass through and how flexible you are with them. But even if you pay customs, it will still work out a lot cheaper.

how does the warranty hold for such cases ? does onkyo support worldwide ?

Onkyo does not offer international warranty. But Onkyo service centres in India will be able to service the 5007 but will charge full parts & labor for servicing. Same as Marantz or Denon.

I'll take up the offer Manu, just ensure you leave some space for me to get some goodies for myself too:).

I'm sure a willing HFV member will jump on this offer! Although you may want to give him money for customs as well;)
Since you are already in DXB, why not use Manu's offer to travel home and back with Manu's amp in tow.

santhol2, unfortunately the 5007 in its package will use up almost the full check in luggage weight allowance - it weighs around 30 kgs when packaged. You will be left only with hand baggage allowance, which means you can carry some nice chocolates back for your family;)

Well, I would have taken it up if manu4panjab lived in Chennai. He doesn't, hence my suggestion to offer the flight ticket to some one else who lived closer to manu4panjab:)

u r also right about warranty anywayz still haven't got answer for my question ati amp or denon 4810 or onk 5007 which has more refine define crystal clear without any harshness ....

manu4panjab, you have owned multiple Onkyo AVRs if I am not wrong. How do you like their sound? Would you defined your current setup with Onkyo 807 as harsh?

You are really comparing two different components - the ATI is a muscle power amp and is one of the standards in this category. The other components are receivers - although in the upper end and feature a lot more functionality and features. You cant use the ATI as is and you will need to pair it with a receiver with pre-outs. There is no question on the quality of the amplification or the power and no point in comparision on this aspect alone beween the ATI and the receivers you have named, however you will have to judge whether this increased cost of a receiver + 5-ch amp is worth it for you. Do you already have a receiver that has pre-outs that you can use?

cheers

hi manub bhai

i wud suggest u plz forget about investing on the AVRs you have named , for the money you are willing to spend on the Avrs u cud as well plan on getting yourself a pre processor for less than a quater of the price and invest in power amps of your choice, this gives u the ultimate flexibility and a sound that is hard to beat by any recievers u have mentioned

believe me u cud never go wrong with such a set up, the pre section of an AVR/reciever cannot match the capabilities of a standalone pre/processor

OK the recivers u mentioned may boast of 9.2 ,do not fall prey for this as there are hardly any material to enjoy full benifits ,listening to 9.2 on prologic2 x/z is no worth , abt the .2 there are multiple ways to connect. And with your new sub arriving i doubt the .2 really matters

also note that the built in power amps in the recivers are not for you:)
hope this helps

I think you are really neglecting your front speakers. TSi 500 is hardly the epitome of clarity, extension, or anything at all. (well maybe they are good party speakers). if you have to stay with polk, why don't you look at the RTi A9s, which have the capability to handle high wattage amplifiers and are significant aupgrade on what you have.

or you look at other brands ( i would really recommend you look at the AAD (phil jones) vi-860) - should tick most of your boxes..

or you could simply look at more efficient speakers (klipsch comes to mind).. do note that a 3db/watt increase in sensivitiy is equal to the increase in volume that you would get by doubling the Amp power.

i.e an 89db/w/m speaker with a 200w is as loud as a 92Db/wm speaker witha 100w amp (all other things being equal ;-) )

cheers

cheers..

subash bhai and kapvin here's my problem listen to it first i'm a very confused guy(but only in av department :D) so the thing his both of u confusing me :) let's make it simple as i'm in property business i just sold new villa so now i have spare 2lacs in which i just bought uls 15 with vtf2mk3 swapping so now i have only 150000 left so in that money u guys telling me to buy new speakers and pre-processor ok here's an offer if someone here like to buy onkyo 807 i can give great discount and as far as pre-pro concern which companies and for amp i'm opt for ati already an ati 2003 amp which has 200watts x3ch so that i can power fronts and centre and left surrounds for avr :D so yaaa i already talk to hifizone in delhi for polk rti series but i also told him find someone who'll buy polk tsi series first i can get rti series in great discount so no big deal here
so in 150000 which pre/pro and which amp to go if u have that much amount for it
