Denon 1912 should be compared with onkyo NR609 and marantz SR/NR 5005 series(not sure about the model).

Marantz should have the edge over the other brands when it comes to stereo music.

Denon 1912 is a entry level AVR,Onkyo 809 is much powerful machine.Marantz is better for music.

Whats the warranty structure? If it is from the manufacturer then it is a good deal but if not then 42 k is on the higher side.Also is it a 110V?

IMHO This AVR should be costing arnd 37- 38k in India.

Authorised dealer in mumbai (mulund) offered 38k (with B&W) after discounts for Denon 1911 and about 40k for 1912. Said he will do the installation for free, but with the inbuilt speaker configuration i guess installation is not needed.!

Denon 1612 is available for 29,900 at ProFx Bangalore. Ironically when I asked him about Denon 1911 & 1912 he said both will cost the same which is 45K. That was odd.Shouldnt 1911 cost less considering its an outgoing model..

of course its odd, but i guess these guys still have some stock of 1911 which they are officially supposed to sell @ 45k and the new 1912 stock which has arrived is also officially priced @ 45k. But pushing them for discounts on the older model might fetch you a discount of about 2k. They should be happy to give it as it ll help them get rid of the older stock. just my 2 penny logic.!

Denon 1911 should be priced around 35K. According to 'Kittu' it is available for around 32K in bangalore.

32k for 1911 is a good price i would say, cos i was offered 38750 (with B&W) for 1911 by a dealer (not ProFX) after discounts in Mumbai about 2 weeks back.

Thats a very decent price. I presume its a 220 V model and with B&W? If it is then I dont think Bangloreans should hesitate a minute before grabbing the remaining pieces.
