Beware of FEDEX

Fedex delivered a very damaged driver which I purchased from USA. After
complaining to them they initiated an investigation and promised to
send me a reply. Some of you already know about this incidence.
I was told it will take very long time for the investigation. Now I have
contacted them regarding the investigation, they stamped my email
as SPAM and told me that they do not have any information on this
shipment as they do not keep shipment data for more than three months.

This is not expected from a premium courier service like FEDEX.

SO BEWARE of such fraud...

as you can see, the driver that i ordered from Europe Audio - Home page will be here with me on 21st Jan.

if it is damaged ( and i am sure it will be), we must let them know that they cannot fool with customers in this callous way.

i will update with all pictures of transit damage if/when i find them

A piece of advice: do not put your signature untill and unless you
open the packet in front of the courier man. Check everything and then
sign. Otherwise do not receive and inform the shop abroad immediately.
I made this mistake.

I placed a complain to the Delhi Custom and they give me a written and
signed reply that they never unpack and repack any parcel themselves,
for custom checking these are done by the courier agent. So if anything
happens it is entirely the fault of the courier agent.

I hope and pray very much that nothing will happen in your case and you will
receive your driver safe.

hi Chandan,

i received my driver today.

i opened the package in front of the delivery person, and checked the contents before signing.

the condition of the package and the contents was very good.

the last time i used fedex was out of USA - then, the package showed signs of external damage and the driver JUST escaped damage.

perhaps, out of europe, people are more careful ?

the driver is 10" SEAS L26ROY

D1001-04S - SEAS L26ROY 10 inch long stroke woofer - Europe Audio

the scanspeak 10" is the better one, but costs double!

23W/4557T00 - Scan-Speak 10 inch woofer long throw aluminium cone - Europe Audio

i am searching around for a good design and plate amp for this driver.

am looking for usable 40 hz output in a 20' x 15' x 10' room which has non-rectangular dimensions, and am looking to cut-out at 60 hz (upper)

i suppose that i need an amp in excess of a 1000 watts?

Thanks shershah bhai for posting details on fedex shipping and also this europe audio site. Drivers seems to be much cheaper than at madisound. I see you are in Bangalore. How much did shipping cost?

Nice driver from the specs. Just curious, why do you think it needs in excess of 1000 watts of Class D(?) power at 4 ohms? Since it is a 10 inch and aluminium cone, do you still need that much of power?
