Bought BIC America F12 Subwoofer through Amazon.com

HI,

Please help me how to get international Shipment done from Amazon. iam ready to pay all duties and shipping charges

Firstly you need an international debit card (ones with an expiry date)
Indian banks require you to sign up for Mastercard Secure code/Verified by Visa
The problem is Amazon doesn't support Mastercard Securecode/Verified by Visa.
As a work around for this , you need to register for and generate a Netsafe Virtual Debit Card which can be used in Amazon(only HDFC bank has this service AFAIK).The card is single use.Lasts only 24 hrs.Any balance will be credited to your bank account.
Add this virtual card to Amazon.

There is still another problem.Amazon charges your card only when they ship your order.which would usually more than 24 hrs, maybe 2 to 3 days max. But, by this time your virtual card would have expired.

A work around for this is to buy a Amazon Gift card. And add it to your own account and it would remain there for ever as a Gift card balance.Which Amazon will use when you make a purchase.

But things could be complicated if Amazon does'nt ship a product to India.
Then you want to create a virtual US shipping address .That makes it even more expensive affair.

I think its a huge risk to import a sub from US. In case of malfunction , which can happen to any electronic equipment, you wont be able to send it back for service. Better stick with what's locally available -with warranty.

I have been importing dozens of stuff from Amazon USA. All of them Gardening equipments(none available locally). After paying the hefty ,so-called import fee deposit. And you can forget the import fees refund - even after 90 Days, because the courier company almost never refunds Amazon( even if thay had'nt paid any duty)believe me , i have gone to the extent of obtaining the 'Bill of Entry' from the courier company.

My policy for import- Never import anything that is available locally.Especially
electronics.
i beg to differ, if the customs is less than what was paid amazon will refund it. i have been refunded the amounts on 2 occassions even though i didnt bother to check the actual duty paid. if u have proof that duty levied was less than what u have paid , u should be able to get the refund from amazon, believe me amazon does pay serious attention to customer service and complaints.

Stay away from shopyourworld.com(however tempting it is)..Yeah, i have done that too....

Yes .Anything else would be a much much better idea..

the safest shopping options are amazon, any of their countries and ebay, because u can be sure of not getting cheated. period.

how would this compare to the velodyne impact 12?? is it worth getting BIC from US for around 22k or go for velodyne 12 locally for around 30k???

velodyne anyday. but for subs diy always gives u twice the quality for any price point. reasons being. 1. very few companies design subs without bothering about weight and size, purely considering quality of performance. their marketing and distributing divisions are always after them to get it as small & light as possible. there are a couple of exceptions and their shipping will be more than their price especially sent out of country. so they always compromise and the final product is never the best capable of by the driver and amp. 2. luckily for us there are companies that provide timetested designs with their drivers and recommended amps. 3. speakers are the easiest DIY audio components without compromising quality and nowadays commercial finishers are available to give whatever finish u want. 4. and among speakers the sub is the easieast to make. since all the weight comes from the cabinet and damping u import drivers and subs and can build it yourself, get the cabinet made by someone locally. if u are not sure about it u can even buy cutouts as required. so there goes two paise.
