Ideal spacing for each led spot lights is 3-4ft. I have roughly marked the locations in your pictures. The colors represents separate circuits. Only the required lights are to be switched on to save energy (each bulb will be 3-4w max). The number of lights selected is inadequate to lightup the room properly.

If the light is harsh, scratch the front glass of the bulb with steel wool.

LED lights and rope lights are not very expensive (My full house is with led lights)

finally i proved it .. these are LED's :) .. yeah i guess that's the market..

if you start the lane towards abids .. then the second last shop and you gotta bargain to get it around 48/50 rs metre...

for each separate role you buy.. you will need an adapter.. the one that is shown in the pic and that will cost you around 90 rs...

i use this 2 metre rope behind my tv for the blue glow effect...

Guys the rope lights are as cheap as 200Rs here .. why import

i get good spotlight 1 watt with steel fitting(moving eye type :) ) delivered at 500Rs /pc
from kolkata..
bulbs etc 500, LED steelmounted cube at 1000Rs . they are just awesome.

Read in another thread that your renovation is over.
Did you get the LED lights?

Yes Quad. Its done a month ago. But due to my sister's marriage arrangements, I could not get on HFV and post the pictures. I still have a long way to go in putting up all the furniture and equipment.
So....basically, essentially, fundamentally, importantly and apparently...the work is still in progress..phase 2 will begin sometime soon...please bear with the incompleteness

Here are the pictures:

I have used die cast LED light strips to illuminate two of my glass wall cabinets. These are the ones I purchased from ebay Led Light strip 5 Meter (NON --- Water Proof) | eBay but from another Kolkata based ebay seller who was offering at lower prices (not available now). Their illumination is very good and they run on 12v 1Amp power (upto 5 metres) and does not emit much heat (unless you touch them)

the one you added the link for are led strip. one we got locally here are led rope and they dont run warm for they have a thick transparent coating and these are waterproof as long as the adaper for power and the end point stays out of water. rest of the length can be submerged.

the plus point of led strip is these emit crisp light and are thin.

I like the idea of the brick rack for AV, I think considering the door behind you can consider placing the speakers more towards the wall to avoid someone falling on your precious :))) while coming through that door,

Haisaikat,

I saw an awesome setup in US where all the equipment was kept in stone fireplace turned into a AV rack something akin to this. Gave a different and groovy look. I tried out with a brick one but didn't come out well. Its still incomplete, in time I'll have to do some stuff to get a minimum groovy look.

Regarding speaker falling down, there is a good gap of 3 feet. Btw, I don't have any kids yet. But yeah, gotta be future proof and will do the needful in time.

Cheers!!
