Cadence ARCA : opinions please

An Arca properly matched and setup can really sound like one of the best out there. A top quality source is a must.

When I started this thread , I was only looking for a specific help and opinions , and did not think it would generate such wide interest and participation.
In a way it is good since not so much had been talked about ARCA previously despite being a very deserving candidate and Cadence may be only contribution worth a mention from India ( second may be Rythm ) to the world of Audiophile Industry .
I believe Cadence can do more to promote their ARCA and all other products. I did talk to Mr. Ajay Shirke to express my views and opinion on this topic. We did have good talk on such and peripheral issues ( also on upgrades options on ARCA ! ) . At the end I also complimented him for his unique effort and contribution to audiophile industry despite being based in India where this hobby or industry is rather in budding/infant stage.

trust u were also able to look at (and of course, listen to) the Siltech SC1 Pantheon XXVs when there?

Yes sure did ! I listened to his system which comprises of Siltech SET mono blocks, Esoteric digital source, Siltech preamp, Crystal Cable speakers, Acuphase A.C. Conditioner and power supply , and all cables from Reference Series of Siltech. Also I listened to Pantheon XXVs While I was there but they were driven by Canasaya mono blocks .

dude, your eye for details is infectious. all of sudden, 2-5 lakhs for speakers don't seem so expensive.

and, he used to be on PSAudio.

from ur explanation u r then referring to the office_cum_listening room, not his residence.

btw, crystal cable is part of siltech.

Task No.1 should be to improve their website. It's bad. OK, make that pathetic.

i tried speaking to mr. shirke on this. however, being old school (as i was told), he seemed to opine that people who they intended to target (they actually don't believe in targeting/marketing) their stuff to would not buy seeing the stuff off the web. this possibly is the reason.

I am referring to his system at his residence , not his office cum listening room. Only Pantheons XXVs were set up at his listening room at the factory premises ( these were set up on my prior special request : yes they were that kind and considerate ! )

Radni,

Great choice on the Arca...

It is a superb speaker and the Panel is one of the finest Tweeters I have ever heard. The woofer is very well mated to the panel and you should have no issue with the bass in your room. I have a larger speaker in a smaller room and bass can be tweaked with placement and treatments if requried.

The best part of buying a Cadence product is their customer service. They will go out of their way to sort any issues you have even way after the warranty period.

All the best!

OK. I see no salvation here :) I've seen this same old sentiment in my old organisation. No cure.

+1. I bought used Arista speakers and their panels were not functional. Even after repairs, volume of one of the speakers was lower than the other.

I'd like to put on record that Mr. Ambalavanan has gone out of the way to ensure that my speakers got back to shape.

This is a nice way to filter out audiophiles who want to see a reasonable website before buying the stuff:D . Is it their first level filtration to get to their "target" customers ? ;)

Sir,
Since you did listen to both the set ups - what was your opinion on them ? SP XXV & CC Arabesque ?

Did any of the rooms have an Arca Playing ? Were you able to audition the Arca ?

Pardon me for this statement / question; Is Cadence Arca still a 'great speaker' ? 1 + decade has passed & speaker technology has moved - so I feel.....

;)

Both set ups were truly enjoyable in their own way.
I did not audition Arca while there in Pune , as I had already auditioned them earlier at my home on my system .
Arca are still great spkrs . IMHO ,fundamentally good designs do not need to be abandoned just because it gets old , only it needs to be tweaked, altered as it evolves to next higher level . Spkrs design has lot many complex physical parameters ( including enclosure internal spaces, cavities , baffles etc ) which play dominant role in sound reproduction , besides design of electronic circuit and quality of parts chosen. So, in my personal opinion , new design cannot come as perfect at prototype or version 1 , and designers, developers will make continuous efforts to bring it to next higher, improved version as a process of evolution.
By the way , most of us here may not know that Present ARCA s are version VI and so not the same what it was when first introduced: in a way it has evolved with great refinements in design over the years . It would be unfair to assume it has aged and not kept up to technology developments.
I have suggested to Cadence to mention Version VI on the plate of Arca and also to mention yr of manufacture (besides serial number ) so one can track its history.

Regards.
