Hi friends,

On your kind recommendation I decided to go for Tannoy f1 custom.

Now I need your opinion on centre.
Mercury range have 2 centres Fc & Fc custom.

Now does anybody know difference in sound qualiy?

I came to know Tannoy mercury F system won the award.
I asked Hifi & Tannoy both regarding centre they could not tell
which centre was reviewed, but confirmed front & rear were F1 custom.

As I know Fc custom centre was recently launched ,may not be available
at the time of Whathifi review.

So has anybody read the review in HiFi?

Which centre to go for?

Logically I should go for Fc custom, but price difference is Rs.2500

Pls. help me out.

The centre should ideally match the the front spks, Thus for a better match pl stick to the Custom.

You'll forget the price diff in the long run.

Cheers

Can you tell me how much you paid for it and where you purchased it? What is your feedback on the F1 custom?

TIA
Regards

I got it from Alliance4, D.N.nagar,Andheri ,Mumbai for Rs.14700(with discount)
They order for me from Delhi.

Its very good at SQ.Movie sound is amazing. You feel the sound comes from
TV not spks.Stereo playback must be good.I play from Onida DVDp to Onkyo
avr.So SQ is better & clear,acurate.As I dont have dedicated stereo setup,I
cant say details.

In short mov - 10/10
music- 8/10 (don't have set up)

Do you have the Telephone no. of the Alliance4 shop.
I would also like to audition Tannoy customs.

Audition may be difficult as they are nor direct dealors. But I remembered they
had one black piece which was ordered wrongly as I reqd the other colour.Check that.

I second what neo mentioned earlier. The Front L/C/R should be timbre matched. Which means they should have the same family of drivers in the speakers. Do go with the custom. Also if you have the space, the best center setup is a vertical one and it an be a third of your L/R speakers. This gives the best headroom and soundstage.

OTher options are horizontal setup which is trickier to get the best calibration.

At my time no auditon was possible.
Do they have centre in Demo now?How much for that?

Currently I have only fronts.Others r from Onkyo sa it is HTib.
I will upgade step by step.

It was a black one for sure.
They did have a center, but they did not have surrounds.

Centre was I think about 15 K, they gave me the Fronts and the center at 28K.
