Hello folks

I have bought a sony hx850 last week. When the technician came to install, he told me to keep the curtains drawn on the window (it is right opposite to the tv at 20 feet distance) so that the light does not fall on the tv panel.

He mentioned that if there is constant light falling on the tv panel, the tv will develop patches and the picture quality will detoriate. Is this true?

Please advice on what precautions should be taken in such case.

Regards

DIRECT Sunlight tends to trigger unwanted changes in almost everything in one way or the other. Indirect sunlight is fine. If the Panel is receiving direct sunlight, I too suggest using a light curtain/blind to diffuse the direct rays.

Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. But there is no harm in protecting the TV from direct sunlight (if any).

Moreover the HX850 has gorilla glass that will tend to give rise to reflections. Hence it is better to pull the drapes while watching in daylight.
