Entry level AV receiver - need advice

hi ajuvignesh,

please update on the initial setup and review of your yamaha yht 1840.
Sure, I'm yet to set it up. Just going by the spec, YHT- 2910 has old men speakers than YHT 1840 package. The sub woofer in YHT-2910 is powered and has more power than what is going in to the sub of YHT-1840 and hence I assume tight bass. Even the Frequency response on paper is better for the sub of YHT 2910. Somehow I think yamaha will discontinue YHT-2910 very soon and will replace it with a new HTib may be with the upcoming receiver HTR 3072 + NS P40 package. If you want to go with it, you may research and wait. Its worthy than YHT - 1840 or YHT - 2910. Otherwise YHT 1840 + an active sub would do, if my judgement is correct. I think, with a PC, you can play True HD and DTS HD MA. Will check it and let you know. :)

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
