Lots of cars now a days have head units that cannot be replaced esp the honda accords, civic, skoda laura etc. How does one get over that handicap to improve the sound as i've normally not been satisfied by using the spk line level inputs.

If you don't want to us the line output converters, you could buy power amplfiers that have a high (speaker) level input. This works out better because line output converters usually have a low input capacity.

In some other cars, it is possible to throw in another aftermarket head unit in some other available place in the dash or around it, use that as the master head unit, and connect the original head unit to the master through the Aux-in using line output converters. I have done this in Honda Accords.

hi,

in civic i think its possible cause the HU diplay is seperate from the a/c display and i have seen an aftermarket replacement console for the civic on a website(dont remember) its a 2 din size console if i not wrong. regarding accord, i have seen the after market console but dont know what the do to the display for the a/c. let me see if i can dig out any thing.

in the laura, im affraid it wont be possible as the park assist and tyre pressure monitoring dispaly is integerated with the HU display(same as accord) again let me find out.

cheers

Hey! friends.Does any body have any experience in integrating the factory installed headunits with
1) JL Audio Cleansweep
http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_cleansweep_pages.php?page_id=79

2)Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.1/3Sixty.2

Or any other produts or solution that you may know of.

I'd also like to know how good are this solutions in solving the problem with integrated head units??
or are we better off spending that money on a better amp with good line level input or just changing the cd player if possible??

hi,

IMO it is a good piece of equipment but at the end of the day i dont think you can do much about an oem HU. A speaker level output will come through the internal amp of the HU and its bound to get degraded. i dont think anything can compensate for that.

I havent heard a setup with this kind of a device. maybe Jasdeep, gunbir or ajay bhai can shed some light on this.

cheers
