Met the dealer and picked up my 600b with wifi. Dont have time to review now. Will probably do it after a weeks time.
The dealer is a young chap, some how our heavy_downloader convinced him to source the himedia player:clapping
all credit to him). Dealer honestly did not know about the customs charges. So if you see a little price change do not panic.

Congratulations. Please post your review. I'm in a dilemma whether i should take hd600b wifi for 8.7K. Considering price for HDD the total will exceed 11K. In a previous post you said 1TB hdd is available for 2K. Can you give any link?

He still has one 600B without wifi , I guess he shipped to people who already ordered. Check with him if your preorder was already processed.
Btw- on ebay 1tb are retailing 2.8K.

I went to meet Raghu from Detna. His office is on my way to work place.
Small office setup, as kittu said, he is young. He is also looking for options to reduce the burden of customs and import costs.
There was a last piece of HiMedia 600B (Without Wifi), which someone has already booked.
Tried hard to get hold of already booked piece, but he din't agree to sell it to me.
Finally I booked the HiMedia 600B (without wifi) from Detna for 8000Rs. Delivery for this is expected to be in mid of next week.
8000Rs seems to be little higher than initial Rs 6500 by about Rs 1500 ($34).
So as someone explained that the seller initially thought the customs would be 7-10$, so adding that now the custom duty is $10 + $34 = $44 (Rs 1980).
I couldn't ask anything about the calculations. (He told that, the customs charged is on whole box, not on piece by piece)

All I can reveal is that he is a perfect gentleman:clapping:
hd600b has no internal cooling, so it is recommended to use hdds that run as cool as possible. One recommendation is the green series hdd from wd. I now want a 1TB hdd and has decided to buy the below hdd from ebay for Rs. 2969/- including shipping charge. I have a 5% coupon also. Any comment or suggestions?

just got my 600A the player is just awesome.....and good packaging and fast shipment got in just one day even with Letsbuy who had to ship from Delhi they did not send me in just one day
Again really thankful to the seller Raghu for understanding what ppl want and giving us prlby one the best media player with a very reasonable price
and thx to Kittu to do for giving me the link so the seller so I could persuade him for Himedia
