yeah am downloading it on my PC itself. its taking ages 
but i checked the version info about the latest FW. nothing much important in there. most of the improvements listed are in the current FW the box is holding. i think i can wait for the time being, and use custom FW instead. then, when someone uploads the latest FW to a file-hosting site like mega/multiupload, i'll download from there at better speeds
and yes, one can return to the earlier firmware using 'upgrade firmware' option from the himedia interface.

congrats ! firmware in the box is v1.0.0.26. latest version (v1.0.1.9), as well as custom firmware can be found at the following page :

i have even read some people using xtreamer prodigy's firmware on the 900B successfully.
am yet to upgrade the firmware. doing it now
the latest firmware version on himedia official site says 1.0.0.26

yeah trying to download now, its slow like hell !!
share ur experiece when u install this new firmware...
did you try any 3d bluray iso and anything with dth hd ma and dolby true hd .. which AVR you hook it to

i cancelled the download, and instead downloaded the custom FW. will install it tomorrow.

Here is the latest officical beta FW from Himedia again: http://dl.himedia-tech.cn/HD900B/HD900_1.0.1.12.tar.gz
And, the trusted good old friend Ollyp customized this to get the torrent working too! Here is his version: Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!
In Ollyp's words, it does solve:
- Working Bittorrent !
- Fixed network visibility ( shown as HD900B )
- Lipsync activated
- Use your own backgrounds for Homescreen
- greatly improved German translation
- greatly improved Italian translation ( by sensistar9 - Futeko Forum )
- new Portuguese translation (in the moment with google!)
- Weather app on the Homescreen
- HiMedia Online-TV removed (IMS button opens Internet Apps)
Again, his advice: installing this will be on your own risk!!
However, I had previously installed his one customized FW, & then ver.26 came! All the FW released since then from Himedia are just Beta versions with little or no improvements.. I will wait for a few more days, & then when I wont see ny final release (not beta) from Himedia, I ll install Ollyp's ones!

i installed OllyP's CFW v1.0.0.26. no issues so far.
@ sushant - the multiupload link shows as 'expired'. any other source you have ?

Dear Seeker,
The link what sajind is talking about is the same what I had given. This custom FW is based upon the Himedia 1.12 beta version. I can not access to the megaupload site from my office network. So, cant check. However, visit this thread on futeko by Ollyp:

Just got my HD900B delivered in next business day, detna.com rocks, mr raghu is very helpful and gr8 guy provides all help and responsive

and how to reduce the subtitle size in HD900B, the text size is too big and annoying at times, anyone can help pls?

thanks a lot for that ! it works.
one query though. i felt the vol. is low on the 900B. i can say that because earlier when playing the same movies on my PS3, the vol. was loud enough, but that isnt so on the 900B. am i missing something ? do i need to alter anything in the set-up ? any sort of help would be much appreciated.

use the volume button on 90B remote and make it full, by default its set to 50%

Hmm..I never played those rips of mine on nything else but 900B. & the vol is set to 50%. Since my lappy wont play those files, so dnt knw abt this issue. so far we never faced ny problem while switching between the Tata Sky HD+ & 900B.

guys get the max out of HD900B, download hidef track from High Definition Trailers (HD) - Demo World and enjoy !!
