thanks for your replies ! i can hear the audio now with the settings as mentioned by ramesh, ie, SPDIF output changed to LPCM.

exactly ! this guy is going great guns with the work he's doing ! in fact, 2-3 days back i PMed a member here named 'Olly42' asking him whether he's 'OllyP', and thanked him if he was. he answered in the negative :p

well, could someone briefly tell, or provide a link as to what/how is YAMJ thing a beneficial utility to us ?! got to take care of some routine domestic issues now and feeling lazy to spare any more time info-scavenging :o

hey still its strange why you have to change from RAW to LPCM to get the audio,,, is it possible to send that video file or upload in some share site and give me the link, I wanna try on my player just to be sure its not firmware issue...btw all the file I tried so far worked flawlessly even with DTS HD MA and Dolby True HD etc which is impossible to play in any player I know of..

I have posted in this thread how to use YAMJ, but it is now buried under the multitude of posts. You can find my post in himedia.au forum here. Basically YAMJ or 'Yet Another Movie Jukebox' is a tool which you run from your pc to scan the movie collection stored in your media player. The software will download information like movie details, posters which you can browse from your player. Try it. It is fun. I have also discussed in this same thread how to change the user interface.

Edit - The yamj guide I wrote is based on hd600b. But it should work on any media player and not only limited to himedia. Use the appropriate firmware. All other steps remain the same.

900b owners should upload an extensive videos of its performance in english. say a good long video of 10 min portraying its performance as under:

picture quality
settings
external hdd/bd-drive connections and videos being played through them
bittorrent live downloading
internet services
internet browsing(if available, live streaming of free sports/movies)

its just a suggestion. potential buyers, like me, are desperately waiting for such a video review. no reviews are available on youtube for 900b, not even in foreign language.
would be highly obliged if anyone takes pain to do it

many thanks ! but i dont have a wireless network set-up as of now. will use this guide once i set-up a network.

thanks ! i appreciate your concern. there are several files in which i faced this issue. i will upload one of the videos for your reference today and provide to you the link here.

Do anyone have the similar issue as i have with 900b. After i select android i cannot navigate through the explorer as the screen is over zoomed n entire text is not viewable.
 
Recently my Himedia 600b has started to stall during playback with a 'I/O Error' message. It begins to work again for about 30 mins after removing and replacing the hard disc in once again.

Also noticed there is a few mm play in the player-hard disc connection (the hard disc is not firmly fixed in its container after pushing in the connector).

Am wondering if it's a Himedia issue or an hard disc error.

Anybody else facing this issue? Any fixes?
 
^^. Please try with the external SATA port. If problem persists, check the HDD for data corruption by connecting to PC. If the problem is with the player, you can contact detna as it has a warranty of one year.
 
I have installed Xtreamer SideWinder 2 firmware on HD600c. but its not playing .dts audio and dts MA audio. is there any way to fix this

You can install firmware of any player which have the same chipset. I have tried firmwares of measy X6, sidewinder etc. on HD600b. Some times these firmwares will work, sometimes not. You will need to do a force upgrade.
