HiMedia OWNERSHIP THREAD

The HDDs are connected via USB.

Well I can say if your HDDs work then Hurray. The 3 HDDs are different, One is seagate other 2 are wd with diff capacities.

I copied Via Samba from PC. Files are gone after reboot.

Any deleted files / folders Via Himedia using green button come back. Same is result with Samba.

The worst part is all this works out of box from a 2 gen previous Xtreamer MK1.

update ur firmware to the latest one, get it here "http://www.futeko.com/forum/index.php?mode=thread&id=2980"

in the above forums I do not see ppl complaining about the issue you faced with HDD connected via USB, same with me, no issues at all

and every player has some pros and cons but thumb rule is always keep the firmware updated

I have a couple of questions (Mine is a 600C) ...... Please help me....

1. When I am playing most of the movies, I dont get the videos full screen, but like cinema-scope (with the black bar on the top and bottom)...
When I am connecting the usb directly to TV and this happen, I can get it to full screen by pressing aspect button and set it to aspect 2 option. But here, I have to select zoom, it spoils the movie by cutting the side....
Is there any option/ setting change to avoid this and get full screen video? Please help me....

1. IIRC, you can get full screen display under the display settings of the player.

Sorry for the delayed response... it is a madly busy fortnight....

There isn't a specific option for a full screen. Most of the movies, particularly the 1080p plays with a black bar on top and bottom. I cannot change the aspect mode when I am running the media player. So I am compelled to keep it in zoom1 which eats a bit of the screen and spoils the pleasure of watching....

Any 600C user friends here: Please let me know if I am missing anything? Is there some option that can help me ..... Please help me here!!!

I won't use the stretch option as it destroys the quality of the video. My eyes are now trained to watch movies with black bars.

where can i find differences between these Hi media models...unable to compare them...
i want simple mediaplayer with internal HDD and Torrent facility. (dont need 3D)

Which suits my needs..?can some one help me?

My first post here in this forum .
But before asking you the doubts , let me tell you why exactly i am here ,
I was looking for a HD Media player [Well i googled and read every single page in here , decided to go with a media player rather than a Blu ray player] .
After going thro Xtreamer and Himedia owner threads , i decided to go with Himedia 600C [raghu from delta is all i am supposed to contact i suppose].
Other options ,
Xtreamer [No clue if I can get it from Chennai]
WC live [I can get it from Chennai itself from delta peripherals]

My exact doubt,
1. What is the difference between himedia 600C and 600B ?. [I couldn't find a full technical description]
2. Himedia Users , Any advise on which model[600 A,B,C,F] to chose [max budget of 10K]?

requirements :
Should play movies flawlessly from my external hard disc.
Should not have heating problems
I Will not be using Wifi much and so is Bit torrent .

Any guidance/thoughts will help. thanks in advance .

1. HD600 is fanless model which means silent operation, it has VFD display and touch sensitive controls (both not much of use IMO), USB 3.0 port (only for connecting to PC for data transfer, useful only if you have a PC with USB 3.0), external SATA port for connecting HDDs directly. Since it is fanless, the HDD may get hot, but not too much in my experience.

2. If you don't need internal hdd support then 600a is the one you should look for. All these players use the same chipset and firmware. So they are similar in functionality. Also you save some bucks. WiFi can be useful if you want to stream media from your PC/laptop/Smart Phone. Bittorrent is not of much use.

Can we attach a bluray player to HiMedia 900B. I mean is there a SATA input port on it..
& Is there a scheduler provided for Torrent Download. I got BSNL Night-Unlimited 2am to 8am plan..

Can someone please please elaborate as to how to use bittorrent client on the himedia 900B player and also how to wirelessly stream movies from my laptop to the himedia 900B player. I bought my player about a week back and don't have a clue to either of these questions. Please please help!!!!!

I don't have the player now. I'm writing down the following points from my memory. You may need to experiment a little. I assume you are using Win 7.

1. Under your player settings, enable SAMBA, BT client etc. Also give a name to your player like HD900B if it is blank. Then connect the laptop and player to the same network (home or work group) using wifi or wired connection. Now under 'Network' (computer > look on the left side) you will see a network media player named HD900B. Double click it to install. Again right click and select open homepage. This will launch the homepage of your player on your default browser. Here you can see a link (name I don't remember now) to view and ad torrents. First you should download the torrent file to your pc and open it from this torrent page. Another way is to note down the ip address of your player from it's settings. Type this ip address on the address bar of your browser.

2. After installing the media player, you can right click any media file in windows explorer and select the menu 'Play To' > HD900B. You can also use Windows Media Player and you will see the 'Play To' icon highlighted. Some times the the streaming may not work. In such case you will need to manually set some tweaks. I have discussed this in the beginning of this thread.

Hi Guys,

One small query

2:Can we connect a 2 TB internal hardisk [SATA] ?

Thanks

I think Raghu of Detna is the only one who sources himedia players in India. Just visit his website and place your order. He is very prompt in delivering the goods. You could also have a live chat with him.

1. HD600 can play youtube videos. There is dedicated link to youtube, flicker etc. I am not sure whether the browser will play flash videos.
2. Yes.
