Green Lantern is one movie I am really looking forward to. I don't know about many of you, but I used to go to Shanker Market in Delhi, browse through thousand of comics, and purchase all the Green Lantern comics. I had some 100 odd of those comics with, if I recall correctly, the first 25 or so in perfect sequence. My mother burnt the whole lot of some 500 odd comics I had one evening when I had gone to school.

Phantom, Green Lantern, Justice League of America, Batman, Superman, Spiderman... they all bring a lump to my throat. So however trashy the movies are, I will see them as many times as I can. I have seen Dark Knight some 20 times till now - for the AV effects also :).

I do wish they make some new and good Modest Blaise movies - but she is not very popular.

Cheers

Anyone saw two recent Swedish movies based on the best selling novels,-The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and it's sequel, based on the late Steig Larsson's books? Great movies! The latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine has a couple of interesting articles-one is about Larsson and another is John Lennon's last interview.

Venkat

Do you remember the small format British comics from War Picture Library, Combat Picture Library and Commando? Also some of the other Brit comics like Dandy Beano, Geezer and a couple of others whose names elude me.

I also remember comics featuring Flash and Elongated Man form the old days dont recall any of the others.

Cheers

I certainly do. Strangely they are available quite cheap in Odyssey and Landmark.

I also remember comics featuring Flash and Elongated Man form the old days dont recall any of the others.

Some of irregular characters (such as Superman, Batman etc) I used to enjoy include the following.

Atom
Banshee
Beetle
Captain America
Cat Woman
Daredevil
Dreadnought
Flash
Garth
Hawkeye
Hulk
Invisible Woman
Jackdaw
Lady Hawk
Modesty Blaise
Speed
Speed
Wonder Woman

The Elongated Man became part of Fantastic Four, if I am not wrong.

Cheers

Hope this wont turn out to be a retro comic thread .... :D though idea is not bad ..... I used to read "Commandos" "Phantom : The ghost who walks", "Mandrake the magician and Flash Gorden" .... a lot ...... recent times all I am attracted to is TinTin and Archies ...:)

Haven't read the books...But watched all the three movies (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, The girl who kicked Hornet's nest) popularly known as Millennium trilogy. First one is top notch thriller/Mystery one, other 2 parts are descent and overall formed an excellent Thriller trilogy.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is going to get remade in Hollywood by David Fincher ( Se7ven, Fight Club). Kind of popularity the original got world wide, it seems unnecessary remake....but again since David Fincher helming the director seat we never know...

The Green Hornet is a disaster in 2D itself and Hollywood is going wrong with 3D.

Utter nonsense of a movie. It is stylized but even at 2 hours seems stretched and boring.

1 down...

127 hours is something that is being released on 26th Jan!

And I am really looking forward to it!

Same here. The reviews are good. 93-94% on RT.

From the trailer looks like it will be unconventionally shot. Some people don't like that (think LSD).

Keeping expectations grounded to avoid building a static visual of how the movie will be... uhhhh, if you get what I mean.

28 Months Later directed by Boyle might make it in 2011.

A movie released in late Dec 2010 - can't wait to see True Grit.
