How is Onida BDX 3330?

At that budget it will be difficult for you to get anything good from the current breed of models as this feature is becoming redundant to the average consumer. Philips had a very good model at around 12k earlier in their 7000 series, the BDP 7500, which unfortunately they have discontinued in India now which was a perfect choice with decent picture quality and sound should be pretty decent given its a philips, i have always found their product to be of a high quality. I had checked it out when i was buying the onida 1110, ultimately decided on the onida as it was region free.
I remember ezone always used to sell this model among the big retailers. u can try there. its still available online at futurebazaar...u can also order online, but call them beforehand and check whether they have it in stock..

Yes it has analog outs...u better hurry, I saw in the morning they were showing 1 left in quantity.
Are u saying there are no optical ports in your amp also? Is it a 5.1 amp or stereo amp? Cause if its a stereo amp (2 channel) u need not bother almost all BDPs will have a 2 channel analog out. It is the 5.1/7.1 analog out that is rare in budget BDPs. The bdx 1110 has really really weak sound, I will strongly suggest u don't buy it unless u must need a cheap region free player.

Yes, if you increase your budget you will definitely have more options around 20-25k. But problem is satkumar many of these models are not available in india, and when available are costing a bomb. E.g. The oppo 93, which I have is 25k in US, u won't get below 40 here, similarly dune hd max almost 40k here. If you can get them from US through someone its great, otherwise I feel spending so much on the player alone is not worth it unless you have a really high end system (>50 inch tv and really high end avr and speakers). In many cases with standard systems people have found difficulty picking out obvious differences between normal DTS/dolby with true HD sound when done blind testing. (Look in cnet, there is an article on this).
I will still strongly suggest u try to get your hands on the philips 7500, if u hurry u will surely succeed. It will perfectly suit your needs and is available within your budget. The money u save should be spent on acquiring the blu ray discs which also costs a packet..without them the player is a piece of brick!

:clapping: congrats on your purchase. looks like you were the last lucky guy to get hands on it, now the site shows out of stock. Now you can enjoy True HD sound without losing your arms and legs over an expensive AV receiver..pity this was taken off the Indian market, along with the excellent 7000 series TVs from Philips, I own the 7403 bought in 2010, it will still give the new sony and samsung non-led models a run for their money...
