IPL-4 (Set Max) in HD ?

Anyone have idea whether Dishtv is providing 5.1 channels audio in HD channels. I tried connecting my AVR through optical cable but could not get 5.1. Is there any setting to be done in ST box to get 5.1 audio ?

Dish TV does not have the technical ability or know how to provide DD 5.1 audio. Dish TV is only for the lower segment of the market, one which does not have DD setups and thus don't care for DD 5.1 audio.
Any idea on airtel ?

are you sure? just called up their helpline, and the nincompoop who answered the phone categorically said that MAX will not be available in HD - the hd gold pack only offers 3 channels... blah & blah & blah. when i mentioned that other dth operators were offering better hd services, there was silence followed by a disconnect. whoop-dee-doo!

Hey,
I just called up SUN HD for activating Set Max HD. They said, it is for free of cost. I couldn't believe it :yahoo:. The Channel will be available before the match as per them.:clapping:
It looks like they are paying now for the Worldcup Sin

The 'IPL 2011' opening ceremony has started and the only DTH company showing it in HD as of right now is 'SunDirect HD'. By the way, the 'IPL 2011' on 'Set Max HD' is being shown for no extra charge by 'SunDirect HD'.

No EPG yet on TS+HD and hence NONE of the PVR function is working. However, DD5.1 is sounding awesome on this channel... Hope it sounds similar during matches and EPG is updated ASAP. I think TS got late in starting the channel as lost some of the opening ceremony and still can't record it (can't even pause or rewind).
