Kuartlotron Error Correcting Super Buffer

Can you please tell more in this matter. This MDF is 12 mm thick, is it not sufficient to act as a barrier to block the signals from power supply? OR the Properties of wood are not suitable to block the electrical signals.

If this doesn't work then, I to have provision to screw MS Plates on both the sides of this MDF partition.

Don't worry about it for this amp design.
My case (see pics here) does not have any "EMF shielding" and it sounds just fine.

Regards.

I'm a bit neurotic when it comes to shielding, grounding power supplies, grounding signal cables:) so if it were me, I'd use MS or aluminium cabinet.

Sadik: go ahead and complete your build as per your plan. I hope there shouldn't be any noise since physical separation of PSU and circuit board is pretty wide. If at all you face hiss, hum, etc then you can try fixing MS plate to the separator board. May be one sheet each per face;)

After all ... Today Mission Accomplished. Final Photos..

Hope u all will like my work. Any Suggestions are welcomed will help me for some another Project.

Sadik

Good one Sadik,
Congratulations. Please let us know your listening impression.

It Matches well with my DIY made Crescendo ME Amplifier ... I just cant keep myself away from listening to its Sound.

Its just Crystal clear, no hummms, no hiss just Pure Sound.:)

Nice and simple. :clapping::clapping:
Waiting for you listening impression.

BTW, Which Volume pot you used?

Wow...looking very professional and premium. Very well done Sadik. Congratulations!

Hi Friends,
I received the Kuartlotron buffer last week. Thanks to FMs Raghu, Om & Sachin. Its a pre built one. Has CNC Phono & Kuart.

I face an issue. One channel has slightly less volume than the other. It is easily noticeable. What could be issue ?

I have no idea, but through the forum post I looked in the position of R1, R5, R12 & R16, they are different than what I have. Here with I have attached the pic. Is that setting right ?

The volume issue is there with CNC Phono too. So, I think the issue is with Kuart. Another thing is that the volume pot is extremely sensitive, if I just rotate a little bit the volume is very high.

If you have any suggestion to fix this issue then please let me know.

Best Regards,
Suresh.

Please attach hi-resolution picture of complete board plus volume pot and wires visible on Kuartlotron board. It seems possible error in wiring volume pot.

Hi Om,
Attaching hi-res pictures. By visual inspection, all solders are looking fine. White, Brown & ground wires are soldered firmly on the board and on the pot. Let me know if you need additional pictures.

Complete Board.

Finished my build last night. This is probably the ugliest Kuartlotron Buffer on the face of earth.
As this is my first DIY audio project, I am super exited about it.

Thanks everyone (specially Sachin for the kit and Suresh from EMD for the trafo) for helping me out on this.
I am planning for a nice looking cabinet to go with it.

Please let me know your suggestions/opinions on my build. Please let me know the places for improvement as well.

superb!

IMO, few vent holes and a can of matt black spray paint [or acrylic , whichever sticks to plastic :p ] is all you need!
even i am looking forward to build a preamp coupled with source selector [the one from theaudiocrafts.com].

Thanks. I have already procured 4 channel source selectors from Taiwan. Will hook them up after building my tube buffer and power amp. [emoji4]

hi saikat,
it might be a good idea to use shielded wires for signal since you dont have a metal chassis. I dont see a pot... if you are using a triple normal power wire for mains, you can earth atleast the supply ground, maybe also the transformer feet for safety. how much is that r-core these days...
