Hi All,

My requirements:

- viewing distance of 6-8 feet
l- location a brightly lit living room
- viewing content - DVDs, video content over a USB (have a Philips DVD player capable of doing the same), Tata Sky+
- Playing Nintendo Wii (no hi fi graphics there)
- Budget was 40K, looking to stretch it 45k (compareindia quotes it at 43890)

Was more inclined towards a Plasma LG PQ60/70 or a Panasonic C10 but a side by side comparison at Reliance digital (they were playing slow moving HD content), found LCD to be much more brighter so was concerned if Plasma would do justice in my living room.

Highly appreciate your esteemed suggestions. Looking at closing the purchase in couple of days.

Have seen 32 inch of this model LG32 LF20FR for 31K and LG32 LH35FR for 33K (after bargaining). Mind you both are full HD.
But I am planning to go for LH35FR for the following reasons instead of LF20FR,
  • Has a better contrast ratio 80K:1 (but your model is only 70K:1)
  • Has a lesser response time 4ms (but your model is only 5ms)
  • Has USB port which can play avi / divx movies (no USB in your model)
  • Has a blue + black mix crystal design in the top (pure black crystal design )
Finally the difference between these these two model is only around 2K for 32 inch. Not sure about the price for 42 inch .

LG-42LF20FR
Compare India - Televisions - LG-42LF20FR

Do compare LF20FR Vs LH35FR . I think for an extra 2K, you are getting more features.

Yes 33K is without old tv exchange and also minus their useless gifts(like some crap DVDP, Airtel digital tv connection etc).
I know I am a bad bargainer but never thought this bad (27K Vs 31K).
If I try to reduce any further, I am sure he will throw me out of the shop.

Find my observations which I did till last week.
In LG Full HD 32", there are 3 levels(low end ,Intermediate & High end )
low end -
LF20FR for 31 K(no Bluetooth, no True motion ,no USB, 70K contrast ratio, 5ms response time, 240W PMPO)I rejected this model b'coz for an additional 2K in LH35FR, I am getting more features
Intermediate -
LH35FR for 33K(no Bluetooth, no True motion ,has USB, 80K contrast ratio, 4ms response time, 240W PMPO)I have selected this model as it is more VFM
LG80UR for 33K(no Bluetooth, no True motion ,has USB, 30K contrast ratio, 4ms response time, 500W PMPO)I rejected this model b'coz dont want to invest on 500W as I am already investing in Onkyo HT
High end -
32LH60YR for ??K(has USB, has Bluetooth, has True motion 100HZ, 1L contrast ratio, 2.4 ms response time,700W PMPO). How much is the price for 32LH60YR.
LH70YR for 40K plus (has USB, has Bluetooth, not sure abt True motion , 1L contrast ratio, 2.4 ms response time,140W PMPO )I am rejecting this model b'coz after 2 or 3 yrs I will upgrade my 32" tv to 47" LCD or 50" Plasma, further bluetooth feature is useless. The plus point is truemotion, contrast ratioo & response time but for a higher price
Hope it helps .

Hi All,

My original query was for 42 LF 20 FR. The response time in 35 FR is same as 20 FR so is the difference only of 10K contrast (that too dynamic not native - so not too sure how much is the PQ impact). Any inputs on what kind of deal the 42 incher at 44K is if I am not looking for add ons like bluetooth and usb?

Has anyone seen the performance of the 42 incher 20FR?

Q on a 42 incher how bad is the 5 ms response time? Is 60hz not a worthy investment?
