In recent issue of AVMAX, they have trashed PQ of PQ70. They have rated Sammy as Excellent.
LG PQ70.....best buy this Diwali???

Sorry, Don't have scanner. But, primarily they trashed it for poor black reproduction, poor black/white rendition at extreme,poor colours, picture details not upto marks, blur in frame etc.
They had a few good words for Sammy b450 though.

have seen both Lg & Samsung models i think LG is much better than Samsung compered with both the models of Samsung HD ready & Full HD found LG to be much better even though its HD ready only Looks also Lg is much better.The guys at LG are just not able to market there panel tvs properly (both Plasama/Lcd)
Personally i have found my old LG Plasma to be the best (3 year old-Time Machine) the new models are just fooling the customer with B***S*** in name of contrast as USP LG 2MILLION & SAMSUNG 1MILLION absolute CRAP.
PS:Iam not a fan boy of LG:lol:

me too not a fan of LG.. but i am satisfied with my 42' plasm's pq comparing with my friends 37' sony lcd under similar condition and paying 15k less

I would say PQ70 is sheer VFM and allround with so many feature set.
Other day I went Vijya sales and he is selling PQ30 for 39K and I am sure you can get some more bargain on it.
I mean, if you are getting nice 42" plasma for 38-39K, why think of 32" LCD for almost similar range.
Thats how I upgraded from planning 32" LCD to LG42PQ70 and thannks for this forum!!

I had almost decided on the PQ70....but now in a dilemma after reading the review in AVMAX.... It has a rating of sheer 2 for Video Quality !!!!
I think the Samsung B450 was rated 4 or 4.5 for video..... I checked the samsung today... It was good... It also apparently has some kind of of technology to prevent glare.... It is also supposed to be a 3d tv ??
I am now confused.... LG has a lot of features and looks gorgeous....
but now leaning towards the sammy - good review from AVMAX, Free HD dvd player... and for the brand...
What are your thoughts guys....

The difference in price is about 4-5K, so if you can manage then go for Sammy. LG PQ70, definetly has glair issue, but its not something you cant live without.
I still say PQ70 is real VFM and as you said great looker also.
For me, I increased my budget for 32" LCD from about34-35 to 41k for PQ70, so was in no mood to spend anymore for Sammy.

Surprisingly one dealer here is giving me 10% discount on DP for samsung
and only 2% on DP for LG

might be because Samsung Festive offer is going on & has got Samsung H1080 DVD player free with it for 37' and above tv's. Instead of giving you the dvd player, he's offering you the discount...

DVD player supplied is not having much features. It would be better to get discount instead and get urself Pio610/Philips 5996.
Dealer where I inquired tells it supports 3D. Website doesn't mentioned it specifically, but spec sheet lists 3D comb filter.
U should be able to get upto 10% discount on DP.

Though i don't know A or B about the discussed Sammy and LG models,please don't go by the AV MAX reviews. The mag is not reliable. Take your favorite videos and take a demo. Believe your eyes and senses and trust the forum guys who already own the models.
