my current setup consists of wharfedale diamond 8.2 fronts with a marantz 6.1 a/v receiver and a klipsch rw-12 sub. havent felt the need for a center as the "phantom" center does a good enough job. usage 60% music 40% movies

presently i am using my old sony system bookshelves as surround speakers. am thinking of buying new surrounds but dont want to spend too much. i may be wrong but english movies dont have THAT much surround info to justify spending too much.

i was thinking of either wharfedale WH2 DFS (approx. 7k ) or if i can convince some relatives coming down from UK to get diamond 9.0 which is for about 5k...

what about those local sattelite speakers (that look like bose). how is their SQ? any suggestions on brands/their prices.

would you guys suggest buying a new pair or sticking to the current sony's. would i benefit from upgrading?

try Yamaha NSP-60. This comes with center and surrounds and is good. I am using it.

Wharfedale DFS is also good.

Thanks,
Prakash

yeah would like to keep below 5k if possible. what is sanen, a showroom or brand? are there any good indian sattelites ? and also would you'll think there would be a step up in SQ from my current speakers?

i am using wharfe 9.0s as surrounds. got them from richersounds for about INR 4k last year. these would be your best bet. very good speakers IMO.

checked just now - they are still available for 50 pounds.

Sir,
It is better to buy Wharfedale 10.1 and use them as fronts . Shift the existing 8.2 as surrounds. 10.1 costs 12.5k to 13k. 10.1 SQ is good for music . will not get dissapointed on this setup

Regards

Hi,

The 9.0 is available there for 39 pounds. But it seems that they have to be picked up from the shop directly. No shipping is possible. Am i right?

cheers,
sri
