My DIY stainless steel hi-fi racks and stuff

Phew, thats a relief and a half. Thanks, mate.
BTW, forgot to tell you that those twin braids in black, one marked with a red tape are my diy speaker cables connected to my lithos q10 speakers and guess what, they are made of bsnl telephone cable.

how does it sound?

sounds pretty good malvai but then i have not compared it with any other cables other than one of my other diy braided cables made out of wires taken out of a 24 core underground cable that i bought from mayapuri as scrap. It sounds better than that but is very bulky as each cable is made of two twin tele cable tri-braided so that makes it 12 strands of tele wire per cable. Further, each tele cable has a glass fiber channel for strength between the two strands, which has been left intact. Something tells me i should have used 6 strands instead of 12 since the length is not much from the impedance pt of view. Yeah but it does sound better than the 12 gauge cable that i bought from lithos. The theme behind the project was that a cable designed to carry a comparitively weaker tele signal over such long distances would invariably use very good copper in addition to having a ruggedised weather resistant construction.

i'd love to try 2 pairs (bi-wired) on my set up buddy! You have any extras?

Is this what they call the "underground" sound? :)

Cheers

Hey Gobble
Yeah, 'underground sound' is apt for the mayapuri one but on that count the bsnl cable ought to be called
the 'velvet underground' sound. Whatsay you, huh? Btw, i dig yo sensayuma. Do keep them coming. Oh, sensayuma? For the less initiated, like me, thats pidgin english for 'sense of humour'.

Manav, thats no problem at all. Though i am not too sure about the spare bit but you always check out with mine. Can always make do with some other pair till you decide. I wish we'd talked of this yesterday as I just flew into delhi last eve and I do wish I'd got them along. No sweat, will have them sent once i get back but you'll have to arrange collection in delhi.
More later
