My Experience with Bajaao.com

I dont understand, whats so horrible or unethical in what they have done. you havent given them a chance to take any corrective measure. Usually the stock and payments are not manual but automated. Have they refused you a refund or refused you speakers? If they refund your money, will you apologize to them for dragging their good name through mud, posting "Horrible experience bajaao.com" in a thread in a public forum where you cant edit the message or the title.

I dont get it why people are suggesting you to goto the consumer forum, what case do you have? If they do refund your money, they have a better case against you for defamation than you have at present.

If you cant handle these small issues, dont buy online.

I agree with you. Give them a reasonable time. But if the problem is not solved start action as suggested by other members.
I think we should start a list of troublesome dealers and the forum members can check against it before placing orders with them either on line or in store purchases.

Dearest Respected sir,

1) If you browse through site such as Flipkart, you will see the In Stock/Out of Stock status, which prolific site such as Bajaao.com conveniently avoids.Trust me its very easy to integrate this in website.I can do this for free if Bajaao asks me.

2)So people make a payment knowing they will get the speakers in 15days max but are suddenly caught unaware when the automated reply says product out of stock for MONTHS.Order on Hold till then.
How ethical is this.If you dont have the product atleast have out of stock display so people don't hold their money for months.

3)After week time even if there is NOT a SINLGE (.) reply (Other than automated reply "we will get back to you in 24hrs which means nothing because no one responds) what am i supposed to do.

One moment i am ordering and paying for speakers shown available and the very next moment week i am fighting for refund without a single reply from week.

4)Yes even in this case i have a full Right now to drag them to consumer court. My Money is stuck with them without any replay from them. They themselves Thought convenient i should wait for a month and have put my order on hold.

5)Try buying some product from me here on this classified forum, which i already have sold and am out of the product but still accepting payments.
And after weeks reply there isn't but a single reply from me.
Then that time ask yourself sir,to please not buy online if you dont have the guts for that.

Sir you are right in your sense but really think, sometime from a poor customers angle who just happen to have 10K ,and now cannot even buy other speakers elsewhere.

3)For someone was needs speakers urgently having someone hold their money is itself unethical.

I support freshseasons. It is highly unethical of the seller to hold the buyer's hard earned money for a month. Remember these days banks are paying interest on a daily basis. Will they pay him interest for these days? Most worse is the lack of communication. All your emails are falling in deaf ears. I'm wondering, If the website automatic reply can say that an item is not in stock after payment is made, why can't it be done before payment?

Returning money after a month does not absolve the seller of unethical practices. A customer's time and energy has a cost. If I have to do repeated followups to close a transaction, the seller *is* horrible. Not to mention the cost of lost opportunities while the seller holds on to the money.

Many sellers run bait and switch scams (The IT depot tried it on me) or just hold on to your money to earn interest (builders do it all the time). I don't know enough about bajao.com, but if they can't keep their side of the bargain after taking the money, the customer has a right to complain.

You have not mentioned in your original post that you have been trying to communicate with them for a week. There are two phone numbers listed on their website with working hours, have you tried to call them? What happened?

If they dont have an item in stock, they will put the order on hold, unless you specifically tell them not to. There are times when a person is willing to wait and then there are times when a person is not. There is no way for them to know your priorities. You have to tell them.

If you do that intentionally, thats cheating, I dont think they are doing this intentionally to hold your money.

This is irrelevant how much money a customer has or how rich or poor he is. They dont know how urgently you need speakers. And most probably its a software situation, and that my friend does not understand ethics or morality.

I am all for consumer protection, but there are times when we as consumer totally ignore the rights of a seller. Just like you have raised the hypothetical question of a customer being poor and urgently needing speakers, there is also a hypothetical possibility of this being a one man operation, and that one man's some family member being ill.

I suggest you call the guys up and see what they have to say about this.

hey man, dont get angry, no one is fighting you. All I am suggesting is that you give them a call and a chance to explain their position. So far, its possible that the communication hasnt been read by a human being. You have only received automated replies so far. So just call the number thats provided on their page.

Yup done that already a week back. I think i will just sit this out.
And really trust me..never for once was i angry with you. Thanks for the concern with the thread. :)

This is Ashutosh from Bajaao.com. When we place orders on hold, refunds are processed immediately and credited back within 5 working days. There is no question of holding someone's money for a product not in stock. There must have been some miscommunication (or lack of communication) which led you to believe that we would retain your money for month. This is clearly mentioned even in our terms of service.

We are closed over the weekend; your email may not have been read and you may have received a late response, which further increased your ire. However, you have posted this thread on this forum, and received all kinds of replies, some as extreme as your post and some a little more balanced.

If you do a search for Bajaao.com on Hifivision you will also find other threads where people have been very happy with our levels of customer support and service.

I trust that your problem has been resolved. You can speak to Rajesh on 91-982106779 or Ashutosh (me) on 91-9320038513 if you have any suggestions or feedback. Would appreciate the same.

We are looking at implementing accurate stock counts on the website, but this process may take upto six months. Generally, we recommend that you get in touch to confirm availability prior to ordering a product.

Cheers, and have a nice day!

just on a note....do you think its possible to do so each time you wanna order...plus dont you think your capacities would be blocked if for every order you are getting confirmation calls/mails?

great points raised. Unless the sales volumes as low as 1-10 per day.

if its that low then the business case becomes unviable, unless there is huge margin per item

If it would take 6 months to take the inventory management online then I am sure it would have taken atleast 3 years to develop the website and its ordering system.

Inventory management is not complex if a system in place. When goods are added to the stock, they are updated in the system. Then stock gets deducted on every order. As simple as said.

I don't believe, as said in their FAQ that order may be allowed before updating the stock status- unless they sell lot of quantities of same item.

My understanding is if the listing is removed or notified as unavailable, the order may be lost. There may be some customers who unknowingly place the order but are willing to wait after ordering. So you get that advantage.

Intentional or not, it is just not right to accept orders when there is no stock. OP did a right thing in warning others that they may not get the product in time, so we could check the stock before placing order.

Having said that it is good to see somebody from the company having inclination to register on the site to clarify their policies and pacify the complainant.

thats appreciated about the company representative but going by all our simple logics, how is it possible to run ecommerce in such a manner?

Amazon will start operating in India soon. If all goes well, you won't have to deal with the likes of B***o.com (or your favorite Indian online retailer).

I can't believe the owner comes to the board, offers no apology for what he has put freshseasons through, and tries to make it look like the onus is on the customer to call up and straighten things out.

honestly the flipkart guys are much better in this.
actually the name of bajao suits them....
no point in haggling as it seems they themselves do not know whats going on in their company. they are yest to clean their own house

Hi Knopfler,

Is this part mentioned upfront on your website? Cos this seems like a really hilarious way to do business for an online site.

Regards

Edit: I just went through the site and it's not mentioned anywhere. Would be nice to have the stock functionality working or a banner upfront saying before you place order call to check stock status till you get the stock part working. I guess a bunch of musicians selling is a different case from a professional outfit like flipkart and I'd definitely support an enthusiast outfit, but please do incorporate the feedback you get here after discounting the more knee-jerk ones.

Got the money back ...and SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL THE GENUINE MEMBERS LIKE YOU.

I think this forum has a real strong voice.

About Stock ....pls pls pls Bajaao.com or any other Online company. Please learn from Flipkart and give the stock status. Its so important for customer.
More often than not a person will take for granted that the price is mentioned online along with the shipping details etc that the product is available and just waiting for you to be delivered.

But trust me its a real Shocker when after paying for the product the status later is ,product not available and never was in the first place all the way while placing the order. It does make one think later visiting the site again.

Anyways Thanks all and I am really really so grateful.

Re: Good Experience at Bajaao.com

Guys, It was nice to see such an active forum and hence decided to register. Looking forward for such interactions.

At the same time felt the need to support my favourite online company Bajaao.com and hence sorry but have changed the subject too. I have brought products from Bajaao.com for over 4 years now. Right from the time I was starting my professional career. And they have been of great help. Right from the time I was in Kolkatta to Delhi then Chennai, Hyderabad and now finally in Mumbai. I have had pleasue of getting served by Bajaao.com...They just dont try to sell you products but actually advise and guide you. Which I thought was the best part of their service.

2 years back they moved from being a pure music instruments to even pro audio etailers. So initially they had some issues in getting goods...But they got it..with few days delay. And as recently as 10 days back (order no 8663) bought few more products from them.

I am not techie/internet enthusiast. After indian railways and some airlines site, bajaao.com is the other site from where I have bought products in the past 4 years. Also recommended to many. So I dont understand the tech aspects.

But guys at bajaao.com know what they are talking about and what they are selling...IMO, even if amazon or flipkart or any other etailer comes..Bajaao.com will remain a first choice for buying musical instrumetns and pr audio cos these guys are not your typical businessmen....plus I see that their CEO has posted something in response and the person has got their refund...So I feel good about them...

Why do we Indians always threaten to sue, complaint, etc...Good point raised here..Should now BAJAAO put a defamation case against the person who wrote the post originally...

This is waht encouraged me to join this forum..Cos forums are meant to exchange knowledge and raise issues without defaming any parties..Lok forward to hear from you guys and build this forum...Great effort on a Sunday to find this site..
