OLED TV's price/best quote thread

S90D price is spot on mostly but I feel a lot depends on stock availability etc. which makes it the most VFM OLED as per the current market situation.

Also a slight update regarding the 77/75 inchers. Prices are after all cashbacks and discounts

LG G4 77 inch - 4.18 but further negotiations were not done
S90D 77 inch - 3.25 after all cashbacks & 3.60 with a free 55 inch Samsung TV but after cashbacks.
Bravia 7 75 inch - 2.4 after all cashbacks. Somehow unable to find better rates

But keeping in mind the prices of 77/75 inch panels what would you guys recommend to go ahead with ?

Not much into LCDs as I'm quite sensitive to some of its issues. I guess your choice depends upon your usage and if there are picture quirks you can/can't put up with.

In my case the primary reasons looking for a 65 inch s90 vis a vis G4 and S95d was that price you quoted , its use in another room to replace an old Panny plasma and the one thing I believe the Samsung does clearly better. I already own an LG C9 but the biggest quirk for me with it was that white sub pixel boosting(whitewashed look) so obvious in some scenes .Infact Sony and Panasonic were better at controlling that subpixel but not entirely. The Sammy should have no such problem plus that color volume. I don't think I would care about DV in such a case but then the repeated QC issues observed by a fellow forum member and others on reddit do worry me

yeah, unless you have fuck you money or its your main hobby, its just not worth coughing up that kind of money, specially after comparing US/EU prices to here

Your thoughts on 77 inch Oleds is justified. Hard to think that they are worth 2.5 times more expensive than the lowest costing 65 inch Oled.
If I were you I would stick to the S90d 65 . That extra 1 lakh will be worth more in 3 to 4 years at which time you could get yourself the 77 inch( prices should drop) or something better then for the same 65. Manufacturers across the board are all oled adopting and finding improvements. For example LG is expected to come out with RGB Oleds( think there is an Oled monitor roadmap that shows this as well starting beginning of 2026)

The prices you see for US/EU don't have tax included.Which could be an average of 8% there.We have gst included in pricing which is a staggering 28% for tvs beyond 32".Plus I assume manufacturers incur such surges even when locally assembling the TVs.Also not all parts are sourced locally making import duties as well.While I agree its ridiculous we can't blame manufacturers alone which people usually do.

The cost of manufacturing a panel at large sizes without defects is pretty hard when the TVs are as large as the motherglass for the panels(You can cut multiple 65",two 77", one 83" right now I think).Oleds also require a vacuum and various tolerances adhering space to manufacture.Then comes transporting it.

Given there's a certain phones at a 6 inch display assembled in India priced above 1.2l with a 18% gst component included I don't think tvs are better priced in terms of other products.Also enthusiast grade AV equipment has been historically marked up always.You can even find expensive hdmi cables that are just scams or better shielded at the most and do nothing better.The tvs we talk about here are bleeding edge of mass manufacturable tech.

I'd be more happy with lower prices as well but it's not as simple as we think as well plus the corporate greed/pricing.In the end it's about picking TVs that fit your budget and needs.I still know folks who can't see the difference between a oled and a lcd in terms of PQ and its not worth an premium in such cases.

Also the best practice of bargaining for a tv for the folks who aren't good at it is to contact multiple dealers and stores selling the same TV and watch them keep beating the price of the other till you find it in an acceptable price.

eh, I never complained about it and it is what it is, but you gotta admit, those US discounts in Costco/BestBuy makes you jealous of them.

thats the thing, it only works where there are a lot of stores nearby XD which is kind of a rarity for us peeps living in T2/T3 cities

If you spend an additional rs.7,000 to rs.8,000, you will get the LG C4. Additionally, the S90D is really good. Check out the demo of the "Gemini Man" sniper clip on YouTube from 0:39 to 0:41. Compare the sky and clouds in both the S90D and the LG C4. You will see that the S90D produces more detail than the LG C4, with better colors. However, the only drawback is that it does not support Dolby Vision and DTS HDMA.
