Playing Old / noisy records

Any headshell that has the standard SME screw-on connector will do.it doesn't have to be an original Technics. Just make sure it's of a weight similar to the one you have, which is 90% of the ones out there. There are a few that are extra-heavy for high-mass arms, which, if used, can make balancing the arm (and cartridge) a tad difficult.

Seems I will get a technics headshell only for being on safer side

I read okki Nikki in hfv earlier. In lower budget will this work?

Yes, it will. Also go through this thread. https://www.hifivision.com/threads/ultrasonic-cleaner.72017/
Though you can very easily make it yourself with a spare extension pipe.
You need to drill a hole near one end for the spindle, cut a 2-3 mm wide slit with length the width of the grooves, paste strips of felt and cover the top of the pipe with something suitable.
Luckily I found a medicine bottle lid which fitted perfectly :).

There is some experimentation with budget DIY ultrasonic cleaners in Pune.

The main purpose is to suck the dirty solution from the record without scratching the latter. I simply use the smaller wet squeeze brush (that come with wet and dry vacs) with a microfiber towel.

Good idea, I see wet and dry vacs cheap on OLX. Will try them
