Save your plasma tv against new big tv logo campaign

To everyone who uses Big tv.. any ideas / experiences with reliance to request them to change their logo. I have a pioneer plasma and I can see a faded pixel burn ever since they have put their new logo. So, I have been constantly viewing my tv in zoom mode. It's alright in some channels and not in some. Watching a cricket match in zoom mode absolutely sucks big time as you don't get to see the stats....
I had written to them when they had just launched, to reduce their logo size and to make it plasma friendly and look what the bunch of jokers did..

Even Airtel has the same kind of logo. What is the solution? Plasma users discontinue DTH and go back to normal cable? This is too much from these DTH companies.

Not at all... problem is not the size but transparency... No need to worry if the logo is transparent..

But the Airtel text part is not transparent. It's bright white text.

BTW, have you ever come across some video stream manipulator gadgets which can just wipe off this stuff and put some thing else, like our own moving graphics? If it's not there I see an opportunity to make something like that ;-)

Dude, you are ABSOLUTELY WRONG. I am using Dish TV and Tatasky and both of them have translucent logo! Most of the DTH providers have switched to such logo.

Ya i agree tata sky & dish tv logo are the most plasma friendly. And i can tell you regardless of the best of plasma's available in the market, the reliance logo will cause image retention / pixel burn after some time

Good info, I am stuck with airtel since ages :sad: , bad relay , superbad customer service planning to switch to Sun Direct . What about sun direct logo ? is it translucent or not ? How is their audio quality ?

I am thinking about going back to the 'stone age'. The old 'cable to home' doesn't at least tamper your TV. I heard the digital set top box made by hathway can increase the quality of picture from the regular cable. Anyone here using that? My local cable guy is short of these boxes. He says it may take few months for him to get one.

Does Hathway offer HD ??

I don't think so. Yeah, for those of you who have HD still have to hold on to DTH.

Got a mail response from Reliance Big TV, requested them to get someone from technical on board. Got a call from a non technical guy at corporate office, tried to explain about pixel burn but he was too smart for that and kept suggesting I should try resetting my console... Anyways, requested again to please let someone from technical to come into the picture..
All plasma owners using Big Tv, please send them mails with thread topic as subject to them individually so that they might atleast understand the problem..

Logo placement position differs for some channels. You might want to switch to those once in a while.

I dont know about Big TV but in Tatasky the logo placement is the same irrespective of which channel is being watched. Do you mean the channel logo and not the service provider's logo?

I am currently using both Dish TV and Digital Set Top box from Hathway Picture quality is Good but they dont have HD. I keep switching channels for a bit even though I am using Dish TV to be on the same side - Already took a hit (high Voltage) on my 42" Plasma and ended up buying the 50v20D dont want to take any chances

Yes.

On Reliance BIG TV,
MTV, National geographic, Gyan darshan and some others have the logo on top right as opposed to top left that other channels have.

National geographic Wild has it on bottom right.

you can observe these even if you don't subscribe to the channel.
