Hi All,
According to Sony's specification:
The DVP-NS728HP DVD player features DVD upscaling to 1080p via HDMI, BRAVIA Sync and DivX, JPEG and MP3 playback via USB.

If this DVD player itself provides video upscaling will this be different from AV receivers video upscaling ?

In other words, if I don't intend to watch my tatasky channel via A/V recevier that supports video upscaling and feed that to the FULL HD TV but only DVD movies via A/V to a full HD TV, will I require a AV receiver with video upscaling feature.

What's the benefit of buying a AV/ receiver with video upscaling vs a simple dvd player that already gives that feature ?

If the dvd player's video upscaling is fine, how denon 1610 compares with 1910 excluding this feature - otherwise they seem to have similar feature.
